Bethesda’s current game line-up is currently sporting quite some post-apocalyptic scenarios and big guns, with one exception. Inxile Entertainment’s Hunted: The Demon’s Forge not only sticks out because of its lush fantasy setting, but the fact that it is part of the rare kind of AAA titles that has a development team driven, if not obsessed, with offering a new grade of quality and richness in co-op gameplay.
Pete Hines is retiring from Bethesda Softworks after 24 years.
Im glad he leaving. Bethesda has been terrible under his leadership. Redfall, Starfield, Fallout76 and the list goes on an on. His leadership style is outdated. Hopefully, MS bring someone in that knows what they are doing.
I interviewed at Bethesda once, and while there were some very smart mid level team members, the upper ranks (EP/VP/Studio Head) were a total boys' club. The Madmen series ego in that lunch was stiffling.

Pete Hines was against locking out the majority of their console playerbase (ps gamers). Probably disgusted at the hypocrisy of white knight Phil assuring PS gamers that they can still play COD. Acquisition goes through, Hines goes out.
Goodbye Pete.
i wonder if he was asked to leave.
im pretty sure not everyone was on board with the acquisition.
Besthesda's former Starfield quest designer, Veronica Harbison, has jumped ship and has taken a new position at inXile Entertainment.
This site really is obsessed with individuals moving companies. Its an unfortunate truth in almost all industries that you can improve your terms and remuneration by moving rather than staying put.
I don’t know if game journalists know this, but it’s quite normal for people in the industry to move between companies. Hell, some are only contracted for a single game and have to find another job after the project is finished.
Surprised you didn’t do an article about the Devil May Cry battle director jumping ship from Capcom to Square Enix
Another one leaving Xbox 😯.
In a few years Xbox's Bethesda is going to be a shadow of their former group just like Rare.
From GameWatcher: "Wasteland 3 developer inXile Entertainment is currently hiring for a new project based on "a very ambitious new license" with which it "aims to renew the RPG genre."
Several open positions for its new project are currently available, developer inXile Entertainment seeking to fill roles such as 3D environment artist, VFX artist, or combat engineer."
Fallout. It’s not a new IP, it’s a new “very ambitious” license. That or a marvel game. A turn based children of the atom X-men game.
I thought Brian Fargo was president of InXile?
Did he retire from the games industry for good? No more Bard's Tale?
I've been dying to play a great co-op game, it's been slim picking for co-op fans. I'm expecting a lot from this one, especially when I hear what Findley has to say about it!
There's not enough good co-op games out there. I really hope Hunted is going to be as good as they're saying.... I need something new to play with my husband.
"We’re co-op in that all of our special skills and abilities are designed to make you work together"
Great, but nothing new. Wow has been doing this since 2004.
