You've got to wonder on the BETA testing department.

Some of these complaints are a bit anal to be honest. It is a big list but some stuff like...

tire punctures too often
Ai swerving when they are not heating there tires...oh no!!!
Wet times are too fast...WTF!!
third soft/hard tire set NOT available for qualifying...no way!!!
to much grip with the intermediate/full wet tires...how dare they!!!

I think they forgot a couple...O_o

there's no horn in the car?
the sky is the wrong color?
there's no option to be a tow truck driver...Duh
how come there is no gun option to pass...like James 007 bond.
the cars have no back seats
there's wet and dry but no all seasons...major oversight

...And the number one complaint should be...

F1 should be spelled FU...O_o

Sounds like the game needs a patch and will probably get one.

mint royale4966d ago

Would you complain about a bug in a FIFA game that prevented any team from scoring? No that would be stupid. So complaining about people worried about a bug that means that cars can go as fast in the wet on SLICKS than in the dry is silly. Especially as Codemasters advertised the game as a realistic sim. Nothing compared to the fake AI/ timing issue though, that is a gamebreaker.

Its a shame because playing this game in time trial mode for example is a joy to behold. It has the best graphics and physics of any racing game I have ever played and for me blows Forza 3 and GT5 prologue out of the water. Its a shame that in race mode some bugs make the game broken.

ryuzu4966d ago

I guess you don't follow F1 or you'd know that some of those things are a big deal if you want to emulate that Formula...

Still I enjoy the game - in fact I think the PS3 version doesn't have so many bugs as the PC (and presumably 360) version since I haven't run into a lot of these problems.

The excessive puncturing I think is actually down to the way people drive - too many off track excursions, car contacts or locking/spinning the tyres seems to be common if online racers are anything to go by.

As for grip - I think the grip model is arcade anyway so no surprise that rain conditions/wet tyres perform a bit too well.

Still fun though.

There is quite a few bugs i picked up on inside a couple hours play, nothing like a complete game breaker but definitely ruins the suspension of disbelief. A few problems with collision detection the major bugs outside the stops i have seen. Being able to drive through other cars is a rare but odd occurance.

There also seems to be graphical problems with the Pc version, maybe new drivers will resolve them but i think its more to do with the game engine at fault TBH. Stuff like black artifacts manifesting themselves on the screen and residual 'shadow' images sometimes a bit like image retention.

The game itself does feel a tad rushed, i think its because it had to make a date before the end of the F1 season and before the other big racing title out soon so it doesnt clash. Cant remember what its called.....:-)

PoisonedMonkey4966d ago

Postman Pat's Delivery Race? Looking forward to that one too...

PoisonedMonkey4966d ago

You can expect one or two bugs, but things like the pit stops is so blatant it's crazy, as is the regular moments on the 360 when the action freezes for a few seconds.

zeddy4966d ago

i reckon its to prevent pirates on the 360 from having a decent game because aint nothing wrong with the ps3 version and the pit stop bug is a pretty obvious problem or maybe codemasters are just dumb.

mint royale4966d ago

I have the ps3 version and I have the pit stop bug. Please get out of the PS3's arse, all versions are affected.

ryuzu4966d ago

Pitstop bug? You mean everyone pitting on the same lap - I had that once in my first racde attempt.

Since turning the various options to "sim" (well as sim as this game gets) or "pro" I've not had it but I tend to pit when I want rather than on team instruction.

i've been trying to figure out how to do a Quick race without playing the stupid career!

kingteekej4966d ago

I "know" one of the tech guys. And he said that they had to break of the vacation after just 3 days, because of it. And He said that they have fixed it and the patch is coming on the network ASAP. He didnt say anything about the other bugs though :-(

PoisonedMonkey4966d ago

I'd guess they wouldn't release a patch for a single bug. There are so many posts on the Codies forums about the problems they'd be crazy to ignore the rest...

xtremeimport4966d ago

the computer AI is junk, i hate when your engineer will tell you you're not racing the car in front, he should slow down and let you by..just like in real F1..yet, i have not had this occur yet..infact, i have been taken out from 3rd because of this.

iamgoatman4966d ago

I've only finished the first race, but I've noticed the same thing. I was miles in front and about to lap a Williams car, my engineer said he would let me by, but not once did he actually move from the racing line, he'd instead swerve ever so slightly for a split second then carry on as if I wasn't behind him.

ryuzu4966d ago (Edited 4966d ago )

Rules of F1 don't require a lapped car to move off the line - in fact the recommendation is for the lapped car to remain on line and not make any deviations or erratic movements - ie drive predictably.

They may slow down, start coasting early into a croner, accelerate late out of a corner to let you past.

ProjectVulcan4966d ago

Had a couple cars move out the way, then came round to lap my team mate and he just wouldnt get over :-( Gave me an idea for better after race interviews, where you can storm down the pit lane and smack the crap outta the stupid back markers

xtremeimport4965d ago

no, the slower cars must slow down and allow you to pass. slowing down but staying on the race line to let you pass doesnt make sense.

ChronoJoe4966d ago (Edited 4966d ago )

Really? all formats?

My friends haven't experienced this on the PS3 version. They may be lucky though.

iamgoatman4966d ago

Very rarely will a bug effect everyone, so he's either yet to experience it, or is just lucky.

xtremeimport4965d ago

havent had a problem on my ps3 with this either.

F1 2010 vs F1 2011 vs F1 2014 vs F1 2015 comparison

Team VVV writes: "To follow up on our recent F1 2011 vs F1 2015 video, we decide to go one step further and put four iterations of Codemasters' F1 titles side by side for comparison purposes and for a little fun too.

We have F1 2010 running at the top left for the Xbox 360, F1 2011 at the top right also for the Xbox 360, the bottom left is last year's F1 2014 for the Playstation 3 and of course F1 2015 running on the Playstation 4 completes the foursome in the bottom right video."

ps5fanboy3219d ago

Gonna have to be a big f1 fan to purchase, as PCars has f1 racing?

ABBAJESUS3219d ago

There is career mode and all the teams, tracks and drivers so yeh this gets my money cos im big f1 fan

deklore3219d ago

There is no career mode. You get to play as one driver for one season as often as you like. I think its called championship mode.

ABBAJESUS3219d ago

@deklore, it's pro season mode or something like that.

jay23219d ago

Mate this is a proper F1 game, all the teams, drivers, tracks, rules etc. so get the real thing over the amazing porject cars for a true f1 experance.

The F1 Series Needs A Pit Stop

Steve from Gamespresso argues that it's time for Codemasters to stop releasing new F1 games annually, stating that they should either add new liveries and licences to existing games as DLC, or not release a game at all.

F1 2015 is going to be released Q1 2015. It is going to be "true" next gen game codies say. Over 2 years they have worked on that game. If it fails ..

Akuma2K3503d ago

The author of the article seems mad for whatever reasons that don't make any sense, the F1 racing series is a very popular which has had great success is sales from 2010 to now.

Can't wait to play F1 2015 in march/april if not mistaken (game is suppose to come out a month or so early before the F1 season starts).

mattritchiegspresso3502d ago

It certainly has had great success, and that's not surprising, but that doesn't mean that we should agree with essentially the same cash-grab being shipped out year after year, regardless of how good it is.

memots3502d ago

Got 2010, 2012 , 2013 , skipping 2014 just nothing new in there, 2015 is the true next gen
