Its funny how they try to be as accurate as possible oh wait.

Tinted Eyes4989d ago

isnt this the same site that was dead wrong about halo odst selling 2 million in one day?

It sold over 2 mill in the first week so u may have forgotten what an article said a while ago

Tinted Eyes4989d ago

Umm I'm glad it sold well bungies hard work paid off, doesnt change these numbers a INACCURATE.

Nice assumptions though lol

trancefreak4989d ago

Is it necessary to call out a particular fan base. It makes your actions no better.

And btw im a Sony fan boy and I loved every minute of halo reach because its a fantastic game that any gamer should try. Especially if you are a hardcore fps'er such as myself.

One other thing that won't matter in the end: Your happiness about how many copies a game sold. If platying the game made you happy, I'd have no issues with what you said.

Just think, when one day you're sitting with your grandson on your knee you can tell him that vivid memory of happy days gone by when a video game sold millions!

then he'll say "you must be rich then!"

and you'll say "No no kiddo. All the money from the sales went to the company that made the game. I got nothing out of it."

good numbers

@ sinclaircrown

Check my comment history. I love gaming. I don't play the sales card but I do wish continued success for the gaming industry which is driven by sales. If my comment upset the Halo haters...oh well.

Imperator4989d ago

360 games are known to sell the largest amount when they come out and this is Halo. I think we all knew it would sell millions. Just look at Halo 3's numbers.

air14989d ago

and you can tell your grandson how butt hurt you get when a game sells very good on a console you dont have/like.

funny how you cant be happy for a game that sells good all cause you get no money from it, unless its a ps3 game that is.

f$ck sales who cares... let all the games sell like 2 copies so the video game industry can crash. /s

Tinted Eyes4989d ago

Yeah i love gaming to, yet your first comment was attacking me just because i bashed vgchartz and not halo

sinclaircrown4988d ago

Please find one comment of mine that shows I'm a 'fanboy' of any one console.

As a playstation fan boy would say... Wait for GT5!!! but seriously we all knew this game would rape in the sales department. also they didn't include japan yet so its more than that. But good for Bungie

On another note the 360 doubled the sales of the PS3 and Wii combined this week. Prob the limited bundle which I purchased happily.

Just look at the disagreeing PS Fans because that not what they would say

drewboy7044989d ago

Also when Japan sales come in Reach will move into 2nd. It only needs 30,000 more and Im positive more than 30000 japanese people bought it

N4PS3G4989d ago (Edited 4989d ago )

actually it sold 44,000 in japan

kissmeimgreek4989d ago (Edited 4989d ago )

pretty sure nintendoeverything.com said it sold 43,000 so 2nd place should be a go! Anyway, whats the #1 opening week?

@tinybigman

thats what i thought...

tinybigman4989d ago

Yea it put up crazy numbers. One more thing I hate this fing site about 85% of the time. Getting disagees for answering someones question is beyond retarded.

Time to log out from this place

I know it sold a lot, and I know it sold around 2 million on the first day (or something like that).

But this IS VGChartz. Let's wait for reliable numbers from someone like Microsoft....er...wait. Let's just give up hope of ever knowing how much it really sold.

kissmeimgreek4989d ago

umm MS is always quick to point out how well there games sell (if they sell well that is).

Anon19744988d ago (Edited 4988d ago )

Yeah, and oddly enough, Microsoft never quotes VGchartz figures. In fact, no one does anymore. There was a time when VGChartz adjusted their data when NPD data or official numbers came out. That practice died long ago. Now, VGChartz is just guesstimates, and not even close to accurate ones. Look at their sales data compared to NPD data for August. 10% off PS3 data, 20% off on 360 and Wii. Look at NPD versus official data from each company. They overtracked the 360 by 30% this first six months alone, PS3 numbers are off still by over 2 million.

There's no doubt in my mind that Halo: Reach sold big, but a 12 year old could have told you that was going to happen, and probably be more accurate in the prediction of the actual numbers. How wrong does a site have to be before we stop quoting them as news? It's not 30% wrong, obviously. How bad does it have to get? Do their numbers have to be 40% off? 50% off before we stop seeing these fake numbers being masqueraded as news? Personally, when I see 10%-20% off on a regular basis, that's enough for me.

tinybigman4989d ago

i'm shocked that it didnt beat MW2 360 numbers wow. anyway good numbers for Reach it's actually the only halo game i truly like.

lowcarb4989d ago

He was talking about Halo games and nowhere mentioned disliking other 360 games.

kyiren4989d ago

I was expecting so much more, so that is less then 10% of all there 42 million sold. maybe there really is not that many working 360s out there.

and then at TGS there are only 20 million gold acc# so i think that what 20% give or take wow not that much.

360 fanboys are slacking on the allmighty HALO

but still good for 1 mill in one week

naznatips4989d ago

All games coming to PlayStation
Next Xbox will have steam
Next Xbox niche and only for “gamers who want it” (it’s a really powerful pc or a steam deck type portable, or both)
