Halo: Reach has dethroned Modern Warfare 2

According to a new report released today by Raptr, Halo: Reach has dethroned Modern Warfare 2 as the most played game on the Xbox 360. Modern Warfare 2 was previously at the top of the list for 10 months. Raptr's new Halo: Reach report and infographic also includes fascinating Halo: Reach facts and figures such as the amount of people who have beaten the game in its first week of launch and the top 10 games Halo: Reach stole playtime from on the Xbox 360.

Halo 3 released in 2007, MW2 released in 2009.

Halo 3 was the most played game on Xbox Live for 2007/2008/2009.

It'll be interesting to see what will be the most played game on Xbox Live for 2010, if it'll be MW2. It'll be tough for Reach to have more players in three months, than MW2 has had for 12, but it'll be interesting to see.

Actually it wasn't. COD4 took over as the most played game on xbl when it released. Halo 3 was the runner-up for quite some time but COD has dominated xbl.

It had 2 million on at the same time on XBL.
Halo reach didnt even get close to that.

No, I dont think you are right, it says the week of September the 13th which was the monday before reach came out. Who would have a week start on a monday? It would include the rest of the week up till the next monday. Not the days before. You would have to be a moron to think that a game before it was released was able to get that high on the scale even with leaks.

Some things to keep in mind:
1) Reach didn't come out until Tuesday.
2) The tally is based on unique users. Thus, the time I spent on Sunday and Monday playing Halo 3 and MW2 would count towards those games as well.
3) The real measure will be next week's chart, when we will see who went an entire week without playing Halo 3 or MW2 in favor of Reach.

Thank you Skadoosh. Krayzie Bone, MW2 is outselling almost every PS3 exclusive out there. Same for Xbox. It doesn't matter if it's exclusive or not, as long as the game is fun, that's what matters.
