RPG Deals 6/5 – 6/11

Russ finds the best places online and offline to pick up hot RPGs, saying, "As Father’s Day and Graduation either approaches or passes, the sales of video game and electronics shoot up. I guess mothers don’t care for games? Sounds like BS to me."

finally picked them up, but two I got from K mart because they were also having a sale and two from amazon.

Which ones did you get?
I'm finally gonna get the new Dissidia on the cheap.

Dissidia 012 (kmart), 3rd birthday (kmart), Final Fantasy IV Complete, and a movie. I was planning on getting Kingdom Hearts, but I don't think it's worth 20 dollars, so I ended up getting a cheap movie. tbh, if I knew about Amazon's deal, I would've ordered all three from them, but too bad I guess. I actually wanted to get Okamiden, but no deal.

I think you won the deal by skipping the most recent KH game. Birth by Sleep was lovely but the cellphone-to-DS port of Coded was just...ugh, not worth the time or money.

Nice haul you got there though. I loved FF4 Complete~

wow, you knew which Kingdom Hearts I was referring about. Good job. I actually ended up getting Cowboy Bebop Blue Ray just to get Free Shipping.

DS games on the 3DS(mock ups): A Comparison

Gaming Gauge writes:"So we recently got a look at how DS games function on the 3DS. As you can see the games are upscaled to fill the screen rather than mapped 1:1(although the option may be there). The downside to this method is that the games lose a bit a clarity, they can appear a bit blurry and fuzzy. I thought it would be interesting to make some mock up screenshots to compare how different styles are affected by the upscaling."

3DS cant even run ds games without fuzziness while the mighty NGP can run PS3 games

RPGamer: Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light Review

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light delivers an RPG that has far more in common with early iterations of the Final Fantasy series than anything after V, and slips in a fair number of direct references to them. It succeeds at being a deliberate throwback with enough fresh parts to feel unique, though not so many that it will entice anyone who would not already be interested in such an endeavor. For those in the mood to partake of a deliberately retro Final Fantasy, 4 Heroes of Light delivers the goods.
