Great footage.

Floating cities ... remind me of Philip Reeve's collection, Hungry City Chronicles books.

Myze4975d ago

Yeah, this really does look awesome. Can't wait to learn the story. Also, I love the art direction, as I did with Bioshock.

StanLee4975d ago (Edited 4975d ago )

Watched it on XBL this morning and was extremely impressed. For a game more than a year away, I was blown away by what was shown. The gameplay looks frantic and tension filled and I'm sure with Ken Levine at the helm, the narrative will be top notch. The gameplay was very familiar but it has such a greater sense of urgency and tension. The engine looks impressive as well. 2012 can't come fast enough.

Death24944975d ago

That is one mighty fine looking game. You know there is going to be co-op.

PrimordialSoupBase4975d ago

Obviously an entirely scripted demo. A spiritual sequel to System Shock should be systemic, not on rails. Hopefully all these events happen dynamically in the final game.

bjornbear4975d ago

although its still EXTREMELY impressive, it is completely scripted

more a very intense and detailed tech demo than actually full on gameplay, but its still awesome

makes me question why did they even bother with Bioshock 2?! =/

DigitalRaptor4975d ago

BioShock 2 was good and I'm glad they made it. But obviously the original was way better, and this looks even better still.

lowcarb4974d ago (Edited 4974d ago )

Kevin Levine and crew had nothing to do with part 2.

outrageous4975d ago (Edited 4975d ago )

The latest Unreal 3 is looking mighty fine and the physics ( Havoc??? ) looked incredible. The blending of cinematics and gameplay was flawless and alot of Bioshock 1 DNA exists in this game...which is a good thing. Bulletstorm as well as Epics flagship graphics standout Gears of War 3 are releasing in 2011 and this is a glimpse of what you will see.

People talk about the " X " factor and how some games just seem to have " it "...this game and the people at Irrational games have it. Bioshock 1 ( Bioshock 2 was made by 2K Marine ) was a masterpiece, this game will no doubt be one as well...BRAVO!!!

NegativeCreepWA4975d ago

b-b-b-but the unreal engine is outdated.

peowpeow4975d ago

All depends on the dev I guess

Shackdaddy8364975d ago

Cant wait. It looks like it will be as epic as bioshock 1

niceguywii604975d ago

Never seen anything like it. It's on top of my list now yet so far away.

A picture to sum it up.

d1storted4975d ago

FINALLY someone uploaded it. thanks!

Convas4975d ago (Edited 4975d ago )

HOLY F*CKING HELL!

I was never really interested in Bioshock. But I am blown away by this! WOW. I'm going to have to keep a close, very close eye on this game.

Edit: It's a damn good time to be a gamer.

PrimordialSoupBase4975d ago

Not really. Gaming was better in the 90s.

Convas4975d ago (Edited 4975d ago )

I was born in 1991, so I really wouldn't know. I'm speaking in terms of what I as a gamer am experiencing now.

Human Analog4974d ago

Yeah your right. Give me a dreamcast, or a sega 32x over my 360, or PS3 anyday. What are you talking about?!?

PC's have gotten more powerful and home consoles are showing us things that weren't even possible in the games CG cinamatics in the '90s. There are more develpoers making games now which gives us all more choices, and choices are good.

I like retro games as much as the next guy, bit come on. It is never better to sit in the past.

Top 10 Rarest Xbox 360 Games That Are Worth a Fortune

Twinfinite: “War may never change, but the prices of rare games do!”

"And lastly, famous Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling helped to create the action-RPG’s setting. What’s really fascinating, though, is that the game was partially financed by taxpayers from Rhode Island (which allegedly lost the state millions of dollars). Yikes!"

1. Now infamous Schilling
2. No allegedly, it did. And they couldn't pay it back.
3. What really lost the money wasn't the SP release but the MMO they were working on. This was supposed to be an introduction into the MMO world.

Soy284d ago

I hate counting limited editions for these lists. I mean, they're made to be rare and expensive. It's far more interesting to hear about the NCAAs (even if most people know that one already) and the El Chavos than some massive hit that came with a $200 statue at retail.

gamerz283d ago

Me too. Here's the best I can do:

El Chavo Kart $90.14
NCAA Football 14 $87.72
Spiderman: Edge of Time $75.94
Spiderman Web of Shadows $75.09
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions $67.76

Christopher283d ago

Wow, El Chavo Kart is not at all what I expected by the name. 100% looks like a Sackboy Kart game.

Soy283d ago

It's so odd that so many Spider-Man games are seemingly given lower print runs, even if they're not the best games.

jznrpg283d ago (Edited 283d ago )

Most Xbox games don’t hold as much value compared to other systems. Kameo, Blue Dragon, Last Remnant , and a handful or 2 of other games that I kept.

Fallout 3 and Bioshock Infinite are the rarest games of all time.

8 Best Games Set In A Multiverse

One of the biggest TV and movie tropes in the last decade has been the multiverse, the idea of exploring multiple dimensions to uncover alternate versions of existing ideas. From both a business and creative perspective, it makes sense why established franchises are shaking things up in this way.

However, there aren't many video games latching on to this trend, as rendering multiple worlds in real-time is a difficult feat and the medium is relatively young in comparison to its contemporaries, making crossover opportunities more difficult. Still, there are a few great titles that manage enough to overcome these challenges, and here are some of the best examples.

While I love someone mentioning Planescape, not really multiverse. Planes and dimensions, yes. But, they are typically their own locations and are very rarely tied to another 'verse' let alone another plane. The only things that are directly tied are the ethereal and material planes. Otherwise, they are dimensions created of their own design and goals by the creator/owner and not comprised of 'their own version of another dimension'.
