New Dante Is Much Cooler Than Old Dante (RunDLC)

Capcom rocked the gaming world with the announcement of a new Devil May Cry, a reboot starring franchise hero, Dante. Except the battle scarred guy in the trailer and screens looks nothing like the fair haired Dante we're used to. You know what? That's a good thing.

Plus, he actually has hints of white hair possibly revealing that his hair goes full white by the time the game ends or something. Also, we don't even know if this is even Dante from the previous games at all, just because they have the same name doesn't mean it's the same person. Perhaps it's Dante's son? Perhaps it's just a wannabe Dante and the real Dante shows up, much older? Perhaps it's Dante when he was a younger kid, remember his hair wasn't always white(I think)?

I gotta say, I am surprised there's so much buzz about this already. Look at the top news on the site, everything's all about DMC. I didn't realize it was that popular. I only ever played the first one, skipped the second and the 3rd I rented but it just wasn't my cup of tea. None of my friends ever played this series as far as I know. I guess the last one broke a million per console, but this just hasn't been on my radar for some time.

I said this in an other section but I want to say it again and maybe add to it. I really think if this wasn't being sold as a DMC game I could get into it. But this isn't the DMC I've grown up with.

We've had the old Dante for close to 10 years. This was a Character that is one of my all time favorites. The cheesy, sarcastic, heavy metal, character that we've known for so long is now being replaced by some emo kid, and we're just supposed to go along with it. It's cool that some of you guys are supporting it, but I have to think that many of you didn't play DMC growing up so you wouldn't know about it.

I don't mind reboots. I love the recent Price of Persia for example. But there has to be something endearing and with this character there really isn't.

I know that Ninja Theory is a great developer and they will probably tell a great story with this character. But this isn't DMC and at least for now, that bothers me.

I didn't have a problem until people kept comparing it to twilight. This is really just confusing though. They're "westernizing" it, even though DMC had a huge western fanbase already so there wasn't much point, and it's not like you're going to reel in casual gamers with this.
