Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today the launch of The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, a third-person action adventure video game offering a family-friendly gameplay experience based on The Lord of the Rings, for all ages to enjoy together on PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system supporting PlayStation Move motion controller, Nintendo Wii, DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP.
Which is the one true game to rule them all? Here are 10 of the best games based on Lord of the Rings and Tolkien's worlds.
Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
I am not a big fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy but it is a classic source of inspiration for fantasy stories. Aragorn’s Quest is based on Tolkien’s work and lets you guide the aforementioned hero as he battles the minions of Sauron. Your purpose is to reach the Black Gate of Mordor so that Frodo throws the magical ring of the evil wizard into the lava of Mount Doom and destroys it once and for all.
Nintendo Life - As a hack-'n-slash game based on the famous movie franchise, Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest enters a field that is already well-plowed by earlier releases. But with it's unusual twist on storytelling, is there something here worthwhile to nudge burned-out fans to march on Mount Doom one more time?
interesting.
I got caught up in the LoTR: Conquest demo before, so I went out and bought the game..
only to play it for a few days.. and go back to the demo for the MP experience -.-
The wii version reminds me a lot of Battalion Wars 2, and looks pretty good, gonna rent it.
