Everyone loves podcasts right? That's why our friends at Bethesda Softworks and the Bethblog thought it would be a good idea to create one. The show is simply called 'The Bethesda Podcast' and can be found on the Bethblog.
The first episode features creative heads Todd Howard and Tim Willits talking about QuakeCon, RAGE, and post-apocalyptic gaming in general. Have a listen.
Pete Hines is retiring from Bethesda Softworks after 24 years.
Im glad he leaving. Bethesda has been terrible under his leadership. Redfall, Starfield, Fallout76 and the list goes on an on. His leadership style is outdated. Hopefully, MS bring someone in that knows what they are doing.
I interviewed at Bethesda once, and while there were some very smart mid level team members, the upper ranks (EP/VP/Studio Head) were a total boys' club. The Madmen series ego in that lunch was stiffling.

Pete Hines was against locking out the majority of their console playerbase (ps gamers). Probably disgusted at the hypocrisy of white knight Phil assuring PS gamers that they can still play COD. Acquisition goes through, Hines goes out.
Goodbye Pete.
i wonder if he was asked to leave.
im pretty sure not everyone was on board with the acquisition.
"Quake II is a masterpiece; an enduring first-person shooter that shows iD Software at their technical and artistic best."
- Christian 'Reggie' Wait, TechStomper
The story of John Romero, John Carmack, Adrian Carmack, Tom Hall, Jay Wilbur and their legendary company id Software. From Commander Keen to Wolfenstein 3D, from Doom to Quake, they invented the 3D first-person shooter genre, and they transformed PC gaming into a multi-million dollars business.
