Americas Preorders Chart, 4 September 2010 - Halo Reach Dominates

"Halo Reach (X360) is on track to hit 2 million pre-orders to remain ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (X360) in its final week before release. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP) is in its final week hitting 100,000 total pre-orders. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) remains steady as other games start to pick up."

After seeing the sales of the other games in the Halo series, I'm not surprised in this pre-orders.

It's going to be HHHUUUGGGEEE!!!!!

??!!...don’t Sony advertize in the US(I don’t live their)? Preorders for first party PS3 titles are cold for some weeks; only significant increases are for 3rd party PS3 titles.

Where is Kevin Butlers "Gran Furismo Jive" commercial? If Sony relay only on the name of GT5 they will be in for a shock, they have great developers but their publishing sucks.

Edit:WTF…only 5 weeks until the release of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow ! It's down at the very bottom, another victim to bad advertizing? And I don’t see Enslaved or Vanquish anywhere.

Off-topic as hell.
What does Sony advertisement in America and PS3 3rd and 1st party games have to do with Halo: Reach?? O_o

Halo Reach is a Unstoppable Force That Cannot Be Reckoned With my advice cancel any game coming out in september and this message goes to all developers who think they can compete with Reach.

gunnerforlife4983d ago

wat does that go for exclusive ps3 games loool
so you think a game that's exclusive to 1 platform is gone affect another exclusive in another platform

iceman29294983d ago

If one owns both consoles and have limited resources to buy games with , its possible one could choose to buy reach over a ps3 exclusive...

Omega44983d ago

Forget Reach look at Fable 3 o_0

It could even be bigger than GT5 in the US, very surprising indeed.

Well, NA is the 360's biggest territory and the PS3's weakest, so that's kind of obvious. Still, Reach is only 1 week away and Fable 3 is around a month away so it's obvious that they'd have more pre-orders since GT5 isn't coming out for another 2 months.

cliffbo4982d ago

omgea4 why must constantly compare anything to the ps3 what's the matter jealous ?

mobijoker4982d ago

Fable is a good rpg,but not great. There is already atleast 10 rpgs in market that is better than fable. On the other hand,GT is the uncrowned king of racing. But fable 3 will sell more becoz its also on pc.But if we consider sales/total possible consumers, then GT5 will beat 99% of the titles out there.

20 million 360
10 million PS3

2 million preorders for reach are not surprising neither is fable 2.

i got a question? who cares about sales

4983d ago
RememberThe3574983d ago (Edited 4983d ago )

I care about sales because I want to see great franchises do well so that publishers can continue to justify their production. You know what happens to great franchises that don't sell? They get replaced.

palaeomerus4983d ago (Edited 4983d ago )

Retailers, publishers, devs, analysts, and some consumers care.

I've got a question too.

Who cares about the stupid or misguided people who constantly blunder into sales threads just to ask 'who cares about sales'?

palaeomerus4983d ago

" people who try to justify there console purchase by not caring about exclusives, paying to play or anything...they get there satisfaction by the SALES. not by the games"

I have all three current generation consoles, and I generally don't much care about exclusives, though Halo is an exception, and I care about sales because I understand that they have a huge effect on what games we see in the future.

If exclusives don't sell especially well then it probably means that few people cared about them and they were probably a waste of time and money or need a great deal of refinement or marketing to get more popular. If they sell very well it probably means that they are already very popular. DUH.

I already justified my console purchases by them having some games I wanted to play before I bought them. That's all I ever expect from them. I don't care in the least if you'd agree with my decisions or if you are willing to pay to play online.

Bigpappy4983d ago (Edited 4983d ago )

If GT5 were selling off the charts, the you would not be asking this dumb question. Sales is a real vote for a game, pluse more people to shoot on Xboxlive. It is also a great indicator of many other things I don't care to get into right now.
