GamingUnion.net: Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Hand-On

GamingUnion.net: "Need for Speed is one of the most venerable franchises in the racing genre, and indeed the video games industry as a whole. It's also a franchise that's shown a ton of diversity within its specific field and it looks like it's again going to show that diversity as Criterion, the developers behind the Burnout franchise, have come on board to bring the franchise back to its roots with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit."

... That's it.. That's the hands-on?

ahaha
ok,that was lame -_-

Eskimo Keith4999d ago

I remember e-mailing Criterion and getting a nasty e-mail back, i won't be buying this out of spite xD

they are kinda priks, they were very nasty to anyone who questioned them on why Burnout Paradise was so radically different from previous Burnouts.

Well now they got their wish, they can make a need for speed game, with only a few tiny aspects of Burnout, and no one will be upset this time.

Looking Back to Two of Need for Speed's Best Games - Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit

Paul writes - "EA know a good thing when they see it, and for multiple years November was Need for Speed month. In a break from the usual routine, I'm going to be looking back at two games here, released in 2005 and 2010 respectively. The earlier game is Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which has the distinction of being one of the very best in the franchise. The second game comes from 2010, and is Need for Speed Hot Pursuit; which I'll talk about just as the Remastered version of the game has hit the stores."

Hotpursuit 2 was good as well.

I completely adore this game! In fact its probably my favorite racing game. I recently dusted off my xbox 360 to play Most Wanted 2005. Still a great game, though I do not remember there being such horrible performance. Like massive frame-pacing issues. screen tearing, latency. If any game ever truly needed to be remastered, it this one for sure!

Uuuu, I loved this one. I want it.

LucasRuinedChildhood1324d ago

No NFS released since Hot Pursuit (2010) has came close. The Ghost Games NFS games were just dreadful (to me they were anyway, 2015 was okay I suppose). Would love to replay this and I hope it has an update for next-gen as well.

DarkZane1324d ago (Edited 1324d ago )

I loved Most Wanted as well (on PS3, I think it released in 2012). After that, it has gone downhill, but the latest games are slowly coming back up. I loved NFS Heat, but it needs to get better before it comes back to same level as NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

Then again, NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted were likely better because they were from Criterion (in fact, those were the last 2 games from criterion in nfs series).

LucasRuinedChildhood1324d ago

@DarkZane
complete agree. Most Wanted was good fun as well.

boing11323d ago

Yeah, Criterion has made two best NFS games in my opinion.

georeo1324d ago

Oh yes! They cops vs the drivers online was a blast.

LucasRuinedChildhood1324d ago

Better be 60FPS unlike the original console ports.

Sgt_Slaughter1324d ago

I would be excited but NFS is basically dead in the water at this point, a shell of its former self.
