1UP: Castle Crashers PSN Review

1UP is awarding the game a slightly higher grade to reflect the complete, working experience, which matches up to the post-patch Xbox Live Arcade version. Regardless of preferred platform, if you're not one of the million-plus to have already downloaded Castle Crashers, you're missing out on one of the best multiplayer action experiences around.

If this game goes on to do well, it will motivate other developers to release their games late on the PS3.

So maybe My reasons are fanboy'ish, but it is my hope that Castle Crashers does poorly on the PS3, sorta like BIOSHOCK 1 did.

What are you on about? If anything, selling very well on the PS3 would encourage downloadable title devs (usually small companies who need to choose their consoles) to make more games simultaneously for the 360 and PS3..

I tried the demo... AS far as those types of games go i.e. side scrolling beat'em ups. I found Shank and Scott pilgrim to be a whole lot more intriguing so I wont be buying it. I care less when it came out though... As far as a game goes it's just not that impressive to me...

-Developer X sells 1 million units of game.

-Developer X, 1 year later releases game on neglected console and game sells 1 million units.

Question...Why would developer X NOT attempt to do the same thing again....effectively get paid 3 times for said game? Why would developer X stop doing this? Why SHOULD they stop?

No need to shun a good game simply because it comes out later on one platform than another.

I do think they took their sweet time bringing this game out but it is finally out so its all good.

I always wanted it, but I only have 4 controllers for my PS3 (well 5), and 2 Xbox 360 controllers so I never bought it for my 360. But I'll pick it up for my PS3.

Thats why i wont bother with ps+. If I want in a beta i just put down the 5 bucks, then get my money back when I cancel the preorder and use it towards another game.

The trial was fun, all those people who are complaining that its too late in coming need to find somewhere else to moan and groan. The game looks great and many persons like myself who never played it before on the 360 are glad its here.

Was waiting for this to release to decide between it and Scott Pilgrim and from both demos I must say that castle crashers felt and played better for me, gonna add some funds to my PSN wallet now.

To me this game is not worth $15. Well, typically I will not buy any PSN game that is $15, that price point is too high for me. They should really try and hit that sweet spot of $10.

Pretty meh game, I liked it better when it was called "Guardian Heroes" on the Sega Saturn. Definately not worth $15, hate the artstyle as well.

All i will say to you folks buying it is this................

I hope you won't have a problem with all 4 characters in the game having the EXACT same moves set.

For me this game got a free pass by the reviewers purely because it offers 4 player co-op (as opposed to 2 player co-op like the majority of other side scrolling beat em ups)

When it comes to side scrollers with actual variety though this games pales in comparison to the true greats like the sublime "Streets of Rage 2" and the amazing "Guardian Heroes"

Wait for a discount before purchasing........ ($15 for this is BS)
