PS3 is the best console for Tweens (Age 10-12)

Tweens are a mixed group of people, at around this age they start to out grow the Wii, and like violent video games. A lot of parents don't want their tween to play violent games yet, and wish to wait till teens or later before letting them buy games like Killzone 2.

That I agree with the statement that PS3 is the best console for tweens 10-12. However that is not the case. Many parents let their children play more mature games such as Call of Duty and the child gets hooked on it and won't dare pick up another game. If you meet a 10 year old in Call of Duty you can tell the parents have failed.

Oh boy... Looks like getting old sucks and I'm only 23... I already miss the days when you were a kid, a teen or a grown up... Why the hell you call a 10 to 12 years old kid a tween and why should you treat it any different from either a kid or a teenager?

Back in my childhood only a psychologist would care about differences in puberty and pre-puberty. Now it looks like parents are either so irresponsible they will simply not educate their kids and blame problems on videogames and TV or they are so superprotective that they need to know in which phase of life their kids are according to some book or risk ruining its lifes...

What happened to feeling and common sense? Your child is mature enough when it feels like such and that's it, no rocket science, as far as you live with your child and share some time with him/her this should be obvious.

As far as the article is concerned, I don't understand the merit of it. In all the time I've had my PS3(since 2007), I've only encountered, from what I can remember, 3 kids under the age of 13 that I've played with. The PS3 is a great gaming for EVERYONE IMO..especially with the Move coming out this fall.

In terms of sales, I suppose the console war is still raging hard, but in terms of quality--both one the hard and soft side of things--the PS3 has been the clear winner for the past year or two.

ps3 is awesome. Sony always had a diverse library with ps1,ps2 and ps3. that is why they are great because they always offer a broad breadth of content to cover everyone.

I think it really has the best games for everyone from Tweens to Adults. The Xbox was pitched originally at Teens to Adults but Microsoft are slowly destroying that audience with a lack of exclusives, blind faith in Kinect and the awful new Avatar driven frontend for the 360. I'm 31yrs old now and over the last year it's my PS3 that's been fired up 80% of the time.

But to all of the people saying "and the people on N4G say that the 360 is for kids now they can't handle it when someone tells the truth about the PS3." Well I have no words for you because you apparently didn't read the this uh "article" which is kind of useless (or misguided?).

Essentially he was talking about how far the PS3 library extends, it's suited for a tween to play mature-eque games that aren't mature (IE LBP or Ratchet), although even the most innocent games can have mature humor injected somewhere in the dialogue.

Actually I'd argue that lbp is the most mature franchise to emerge on any console this generation. It's a title that can appeal to children, teens and adults and doesn't rely on bad language or violence to reign kids in. It also has a ridiculously diverse community where some of the most famous creators are women, Mrs Spooky Buz, Morgana and Ice Maiden to name a few of the best. I'd liken the broad range of appeal to Pixars Toy Story, and think that shows a maturity that is rarely found in gaming.

Now with Move launching there seems to also be more focus on tweens games. It is always a struggle to find games that is not 15+ rated.
