Team Xbox Review: Blue Dragon Rated 8.5/10

Blue Dragon is a JRPG brought to the Xbox 360 by Mistwalker Studios and Microsoft Game Studios, with the development team comprised of famed industry figures such as Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame and Akira Toriyama who is the famed character designer for the popular Manga/Anime series Dragon Ball Z.

Team Xbox reviewed Blue Dragon and gave it a score of 8.5/10, stating that "Challenging to play well and entertaining to just sit back and watch, Blue Dragon deserves a serious look whether you're avid JRPG'er or not."

Didn't really like it - I guess I am not a fan of JRPGs. But I liked the demo of Eternal Sonata - so maybe it is just that Blue Dragon is not that great. It is okay and if you are a fan of the genre, worth playing, but otherwise not a great example of what is possible (I am probably going to skip it).

My thought is that if the game is great, you grab it. But if the game is decent to good, then it depends if you like the genre. Blue Dragon seems in the decent to good range.

I knew about all of them but Edge one. Edge gave it 6!?? I highly respect Edge but its way lower than all those 8.5s amd 9s. Wonder what will Gamespot do. Just found about IGN's.

anyway it looks like ign.com had quite a few different opionions of it. which goes to show that for the most part reviews DONT MATTER. but i like ign.com anyway because they say the bad and the good and there not biased at all. so i love ign' reviews the most

I'd have to say that the marks given from various sites on Blue Dragon are too damn inconsistent. I'll buy it anyway;)

I think reviews are varying depending on what audience they reviewed it for.

I read the ign review. And they made some really good points. But they harped on the fact that it was a really kiddy game. And it obviously was, but whehter that is a bad thing remains to be seen.

Come on people! Reviews are made by people who have opinions, which will vary. If they don't like a game, that doesn't mean a game sucks.

I for one was not a big fan of Oblivion, but thats just me. I know that it appeals to others. Reviews are a good indication, and if every review was below 5, then maybe, but this game got a 7.9. Thats pretty good.

One of my favorite rpgs was Xenosaga 2. I think it got something like 7.6 on ign. They're main concern was the complex battle system and no shops. But for me, I loved the battle system.

So the point is: stop being a drone, decide for yourself. Online reviews can be a good indication, but don't let it make up your mind for you.

after playing both scenarios on the demo, i am warming more to this game. I didnt like it at first. but the 3rd go through, i am really enjoying it. Though i do like the Eternal sonata battle system alot better.
I will probably pick both of these up later though. a buy for me, but nowhere near a must buy.
