Hunted: The Demon's Forge: I've Seen This Before

Bethesda's playable demo of Hunted: The Demon's Forge at Gamescom was but a smaller slice of a hands-off demo I'd seen before. It starts with unwise molestation of a strange artifact—a cursed skull—that engages the player in a sprint through falling debris, a nasty encounter with some animated skeletons and a chance to play as both Caddoc and E'lara, the game's main characters.

Meh. Might get this on PC or something if it's cheap. It doesn't look like anything too spectacular. I thought it was awesome when it was first announced but the more I hear about it, the less good it sounds. Plus, no local co-op? That's the only reason I'd get it on console. Stupid to leave that out, this seems like the perfect game for it. Oh well, hopefully War in the North will fill that role better.

agreed. not impressed either.

Bethesda's rep is starting to go down the drain, hopefully Splash-Damage with Brink, and Obsidian Entertainment with
Fallout New Vegas, can get some of it back.

Really, you think Bethesda's name has been mud lately? Why's that they haven't done anything as a studio since Fallout: Mothership Zeta. On top of that as a publisher they're not really all that responsible for bad games - they're merely giving smaller developers a chance to shine. WET was a great concept but A2M just didn't develop a very compelling game - not really Bethesda's problem.

Besides the massive amounts of bugs and fun glitches in their core games, Bethesda, I think, will always have a knack for great RPGs.

Kalowest5009d ago (Edited 5009d ago )

Your right, but still Bethesda should over see more of those projects, WET was a okay game, Rogue Warrior was ass, and this one looks and sounds okay. Lol they didn't even fix the glitches in FO3.

I live in Bethesda so I could just go down to their offices and find out what's up. I think things will be fine. They've made some excellent games.

wow, was gonna get this game, now no local co-op means means no buy for me. cant play it with gf its useless. and they said they were trying to take a cue from RE5....obviously they lied

Buried Gems In The History - 5 Underrated Games That Still Worth To Play

by Caspar Leblanc:
"When you first started playing Spec Ops: The Line , you might feel that it’s just another brainless third person shooter, and some parts are kind of boring, that’s what I thought as well, but I was really into shooter games so I finished it and I was totally impressed by its story, don’t worry not spoilers, If you want to know why this game is on the list, and you are interested in good stories, go play it and pay attention to the plot, you will agree my opinion afterwards."

The Saboteur was great, nice art style and such a good soundtrack. Hunted was cool but very flawed.

Alice the Madness Returns is still really cool for those who like the premise. The original Dead Space holds up well. Catherine has aged incredibly well. The Suda 51 games are all still great if you can dig quirkiness (Shadows of the damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer is dead). There are lots more, many have had remasters already though.

NouveauBlanc2041d ago

Totally agree, Alice the Madness Returns was good, and Split Second mentioned in the article was not bad as well

LoveSpuds2041d ago

I always felt that Saboteur was under appreciated, I really did like that game a lot. It was a real shame when Pandemic got shut down.

The Underrated Files: Video Game Soundtracks You (Probably) Missed

Forbes: At the PAX East Composer’s Panel, an interesting question was posed to composer Kevin Riepl: aside from Aliens: Colonial Marines, had he ever poured so much time and work into a soundtrack only to have the game suck or go largely unnoticed? When a game does as poorly as Aliens: Colonial Maries did, critically, it’s very rare that people then attempt to hunt down the soundtrack. Likewise, when a game releases to a mediocre or lukewarm fanfare, the soundtrack rarely sees publication.
