I Play Call of Duty, I’m Ready To Go To War

With all the time gamers put in war games, players might get the feeling that they are more than capable of going to war with the knowledge they have accumulated. In his article, John Catuira talks about if war games act as training tools for war and the great divide between video games and real life.

Ok, thanks for telling us what we know. If you play a game and think you're a weapons expert...clearly you are an idiot, and this article may not be enough to help them understand that. lol

ITLoo4993d ago

I think videos of those people are what makes Youtube so popular.

Winter47th4993d ago

Your health wont regenerate, son.

A Cupcake for Gabe4993d ago

I have met a few kids who joined cause they wanted to do what they did in MW2. Most of them don't make it through.

nickjkl4993d ago (Edited 4993d ago )

winter actually youre health does regenerate but its more like killzone you may or may not make it back to full healthand it takes waaaaaaay longer

but if they make a robot that i can control from my house then things change

el_bandito4993d ago

Perk 1: Marathon Pro (Unlimited Sprint)
Perk 2: Hardline (Killstreak require l less kill)
Perk 3: Commando Pro (No falling damage)

Yes I am ready for real war.

nickjkl4993d ago

wait so you dont heal in real life after getting shot with an extended period during the healing part

MWH4993d ago

and you can't quick-load yourself after getting your brain painted all over the place.

AndrewRyan4993d ago

As soon as I read this I pictured some kid hiding behind a rock saying "I got a 25 killstreak why isn't my nuke coming in!"

ChronoJoe4992d ago

My health regenerates, thank you very much.

Just not particularly quickly. Besides, the real live x call of duty jokes aren't particularly funny any more, very old.

OSU_Gamer4993d ago

Agreed

I'm sure the military is looking for ground soldiers who will sit in a corner with their gun and wait for everyone to walk by before shooting them.

NYPunkster4993d ago

Please by all means enlist into the Army.... run and gun as much as you can so you can get that K/D up as high as possible. Good luck but you won't need it cause you've been playing COD.

blahblah4993d ago

only first streak counts. achieving next one as dead... that might be a little harder.

of course if they also played demon's souls then there is no worry. they already know how to to revive with half health and use ephemeral eyes.

gamerzBEreal174993d ago

i knew a guy who almost joined the army because he was addicted to killzone2 ...yea

bjornbear4993d ago

and come back with his pants all shat and pissed on crying for mommy.

war is ugly, and any sane person knows you are NEVER ready for it.

KellyBrown4993d ago

It's an article to make you think. It made you think didn't it?

Quagmire4993d ago

We need to go deeper

Inception Reference FTW...lol (shameful self-promoting)

back on topic: a gamer who thinks he's ready for war is liek Justin Bieber thinking he's ready for Puberty

versusALL4993d ago

Inception:one of the best movies of all time

Esena4993d ago

Easy now...good premise, but executed fairly poorly.

Spaghett4993d ago

Inception was a let down. Watching a van fall for thirty minutes ain't cool. I did like the characters though.

B00M4993d ago (Edited 4993d ago )

Man inception sucked, especially how slow that damn van was! And that Justin Bieber thing made me laugh, what a wanker.

Speed-Racer4992d ago

Well the idea of the falling van was that dreams happen slower than the level above. But I was like... didnt this van hit the water already...only to see it halfway in the air still. Still a hell of a good movie imo.

I like COD games and I'm gonna join the military someday. I know most(all) ppl think that sounds lame but its not COD that convinced me nor did it even motivated me at all to join the military. Its a family tradition, for my country, and other more important shit. That is all.

tomford164993d ago

What branch are you gonna join?

madara0sama4992d ago (Edited 4992d ago )

Mobile Suit Gundams as he said or some secret ninja group.

worm20104993d ago

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

colonel1794993d ago

There is no aiming assist in real life. So that disqualifies 98% of COD players... :P

Jack-Pyro4993d ago

Lets see em try and quickscope now!

dredgewalker4992d ago

Lol.......I can imagine the disappointment if they ever get to handle a real weapon...."Sir this gun is broken!....I tried the scope but it won't lock on to the target!?!".......

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter - Gone but not Forgotten

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter launched nearly 20 years ago, but remains an easy recommendation even today.

banger8817d ago

It's 20 years old and we can still play it. Are we going to be able to play Avatar and Star Wars Outlaws in 20 years?

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - PC Retro Time Capsule vs Xbox 360/PS2 - Old-School Cross-Gen

Digital Foundry : In a new Retro PC Time Capsule video, John and Alex go back to cross-gen gaming, 2006-style, with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Join us for a look back at a time where Xbox 360 out-performed mainstream PCs by a long chalk, resulting in some games receiving almost completely different versions of the 'same game'... and not even Ageia PhysX support can help PC on this one! Meanwhile, it's a sorry state of affairs once we get to look at the PS2 version of the game.

Spec Ops: The Line was super dark.

Incredible story.

SheenuTheLegend65d ago

all the games in the above list are bang on. this is the only reason we need backwards compatibility and physical presense of games for the upcoming future, no matter what.

Yi-Long66d ago

Honorable mention to the excellent Driveclub, one of the best racing games of all-time and one of my favourite games ever.

melons66d ago

yes! incredible rain effects; so good to drive along in rain with your Spotify playlist blaring

Skuletor66d ago

I really wanted a MotorStorm using the same engine, Driveclub is easily one of the best looking games on PS4 and I'm surprised they didn't even give it a PS4 Pro patch.

ravens5265d ago

Yes indeed. May just install it on my PS5. You know, physical copy and all.

monkey60265d ago

I adored Driveclub and the Bike expansion. I also loved Motorstorm. Evolution shutting down was a crime

Outrun Online Arcade, Sega Rally Online Arcade, After Burner Climax... all good stuff. I keep my 360 hooked up to play these as well as the TMNT games that were also delisted.

Skuletor66d ago

I have quite a few of these. Timed licenses suck.

Terry_B65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

wow...I have all of them except the Nintendo ones either in physical or digital version.

Also..Deadpool the Game is missing on that list.
