Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja: Storm 2 demo now available and release date confirmed

Namco Bandai Games America Inc. announced today that a playable demo of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja: Storm 2 is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

I actually went on the Japanese PSN Store to get this demo when it first came out on the Japanese store, but by the time I got to doing it, I forgot why I was going on the Japanese store. I knew I should have done it immediately after reading the article instead of waiting a few hours ~_~

Rise of a Ninja is not exactly like UNS. Rise of a Ninja (as well as Broken Bond) were adventure games and you get to spots where you fight like in UNS, but UNS is def. has a deeper fighting system.

They took out Ultimate jutsu. It's just an extra poweful normal jutsu.
This makes me happy, the first ones ultimate jutsu were annoying, it made every character be the same with a dif skin.

Sasuke uses chidori true spear in a new vid and it take away most of his chakra and alot of health off the enemy. Which is proof :)

Agreed. The fight scenes play out great and they're kind of humorous which I thought was funny. Not to mention the graphics are slick and greatly resemble the anime no prob. Although Id have to say that the first wowed me a bit more, maybe it was sharper... Idk, still great demo imo.

New to me, wasn't too hard or badly explained I think. At least they showed the controllers. Thought it was pretty awesome though. I didn't really watch the Naruto anime before this summer, so it's all new to me. Might be a buy.

Didnt like that the demo was a boss fight, but the game looks and plays great! As per usual, the ultimate ninja series lacks some depth in terms of gameplay, but makes up for it with fan service and great visuals. Stoked for release!

I'm thinking most of the game will play out like a boss fight, at least with the story progression, side quest(if they're there) will be different but each battle that follows the anime and manga will be unique in setup and objectives so one long series of great interactive boss fights sounds great to me.

Actually, the only true next gen Naruto games have come out on the 360 before Storm came to PS3. Rise of a Ninja and The Broken Bond came out on 360 as the first HD era Naruto games and surprisingly sold quite well. I bought both and was ecstatic to pick up Storm for PS3. Just as I will Storm 2, seems great with no compromises due to it being multi platform. How it should be.

Don't worry, imo they shouldn't have used this demo to showcase the game, it's ver easy for vets because the difficulty is so low and it's only fun on the highest difficulty or multiplayer.

I do like the demo but it's too easy to me, I would have prefared a multi demo though.

Also Awakenin modes aren't in the demo. Awakenings are pretty kickass

Tried the demo. Seemed very simple, never played the series before but finished the fight with 90% health remaining. Although I failed one of the QTEs thinking I had to hit the buttons displayed at the same time... rather than in order... this wasn't explained very well.

The animations quality was great, but it's all very simple... I mean you just switch between mashing O, and pressing X and Triangle. The controls are also a little awkward with it requiring that you press stuff like X and Triangle at the same time, regularly.

Overall though, it seemed fun. Even if it was simple the anime cutscenes kept me entertained. I was thought one particular QTE was a little crude / childish though. I've never been a fan of the Naruto series but as an amine it seems very immature, childish.

Fun game, but nothing special unless you're a Naruto fan.

They appear on the screen one at a time, don't they? It's fast, but X will come up and then Triangle will come up (for example)

No, you only press triangle to start your chakra. You're not supposed to be pressing them at the same time. A lot of strategy comes out of that. If you were to play against someone who's skilled in the game, it will frustrate you to no end because you'd more than likely get destroyed haha.

... Seems? That's actually hardly the case. If you were to watch the series (even just the first arc), you'd find it like this, 50% epic, 15% comedy, 35% drama. And the drama is seriously depressing at times (And that's only for Naruto). If we're talking about Shippuden, the tone is SERIOUS in that.

Easily my all time favorite anime next to Cowboy Bebop. The show is brilliant and the story is the best part (next to the amazing action ha).

Naruto's TV rating is 15+ (for ages 15 and up). It technically isn't meant for little kids. That's why the viewership age range for that series is so abnormally wide (15-40). Sure little kids may watch it, but I was watched stuff like the Simpson's when I was 10 as well..

Know much about the game? there was a extremely brief, text based tutorial. There wasn't really an incredibly amount of time to get to know 'much of the game' considering how little of it appeared present. I'm sorry, was I supposed to do research beforehand? Haha.

I didn't say I hadn't watched the series. I watched the first season, and I thought it was childish. I wanted to convey it as my opinion rather than 'fact', why would you contest that.

Yep, they change a lot from the subs to the dubs. Both seasons in the Japanese versions have had swearing, blood, and skin. Though Shippuden has had a lot more swearing and blood.

As for people with the age rating, tell me its for 10 year olds when a few episodes ago in the anime they *SPOILER* killed off Jiraiya by shoving 6 steal poles through his back and then crushing his windpipe so he couldn't speak. Or Pain later on going and basically nuking Konoha and killing half the people there. Hell, the beat down he did on Hinata will definitely get changed around a bit for the American subs. *END SPOILER*

As for ChronoJoe saying its "an amine it seems very immature, childish", first spell anime right and the "Thousand Years of Pain" move was meant to be a joke. The first seasons somewhat of Naruto is meant to be a little kidish, as its Naruto growing up. In the first season he's like 12 to 13 years old, and in Shippuden he's like 16. Also, you can't count it as being completely immature, as he is basically growing up at the start of the anime as an outcast and treated differently (hated and feared for being a monster) because he has the 9 tails in him. One part I loved of Shippuden was when they told the story of what really happened with Itachi killing off his whole clan, watch that and tell me its for 10 year olds.

As for the game, I enjoyed the demo. Bought the first game and can't wait to get the 2nd, has the online play I wanted for the first.

I wouldn't call the anime "crappy", it's nothing to write home about for sure, but it's at least decent.

However you are correct in saying there are MUCH better animes out there!

On Topic, the Game looks Good, and the Combat, though repetitive and buttonmashtastic, is at least entertaining, add to it online multiplayer, and it'll probably turn out to be a 8/10 or 9/10 game.

Ghost in the Shell S.A.C is probably my fav. anime. I've watched the original Naruto but not shippuden. Didn't really feel like it after watching at least a hundred episodes of really REALLY poor story arcs after the main plot had ended. (essentially everything that happens after they lose Sasuke is 100% pointless)
