This game has a lot more support than Mass Effect 2..c'mon Bioware sup with that?

JaeKuro5010d ago

What makes you say that? I think it's about the same. Mass Effect has gotten new DLC almost every month after its release.

NYC_Gamer5010d ago

Dragon Age has 1 expansion pack along with tons of dlc.

A Cupcake for Gabe5010d ago

Wow, what are we at $80-90 in DLC? The GOTY is going to be a very good deal for people who haven't play this game yet.

Nihilism5010d ago (Edited 5010d ago )

YEEEESSSSSSS!!!

Morrigan is the best character in a game in the last 10 years. The Morrigan/Flemeth mystery is also one of the coolest stories in a game in just as long. I thought Bioware were going to cut and run and leave her tale unfinished. Man I don't usually buy DLC...but this might just be worth the money...

I would be content if this DLC was the ending of the Dragon Age I.P. All I wanted was an ending to the Morrigan story :D

@extermin8or

Dude, I need to watch that trailer again, you just blew my mind :o

I watched it before and I didn't even recognize her voice...that would be crazy good if that was the case.

extermin8or5010d ago

in the DA2 trailer, the voice over is flemeth I'm certain of it leaving me to believe that *spoiler* you play as her son/ your son from the 1st game *spoiler* this will probably explain the gap between both games, my theory anyway

Harry1905010d ago

takes place while the events of Dragon Age Origins are unfolding or coming to an end. There is no big gap.

Nihilism5010d ago

Bioware said that DA2 takes place like 30 years after DA1...so I think that counts as a big gap.

Harry1905010d ago (Edited 5010d ago )

It takes place after the Blight of Ferelden. As stated here:

http://dragonage.bioware.co...

Better check your info throughly next time. You even cross paths with your comrades from DA:Origins.

Workshyskiver5010d ago

Regretting trading this in now.....

Shuklar5010d ago

I traded it in after I beat it when it first came out, and repurchased it upon Awakening's release. I don't mind that I ended up loosing like $20-30 in the deal, as I know that money went to a great developer, and I still get to play a great game, even again, years from now. I don't feel like I lost anything actually hehe.

Acquiescence5010d ago

I know it won't be a popular opinion, but Ican't help feel that time spent on crazy amounts of DLC could be time spent getting a sequel out sooner/making it better. I'm not just refering to Dragon Age but also Mass Effect.

Shuklar5010d ago (Edited 5010d ago )

Right there with ya. Kind of makes me feel like I'm being used just for my money with these 30 min DLC packs.

Edit: I will add that this DLC looks the most promising. Then again, I just love Morrigan. They could release DLC of her just pooping behind a tree, and I would still buy it...haha

Rowland5010d ago (Edited 5010d ago )

I'm afraid Dragon Age (and Mass effect) is just another dumbed down, linear, commercially driven casual game franchise masquerading as an RPG. Despite excellent production values and story-telling don't be fooled by the RPG tag.

These games could have been absolute classics if Bioware had developed open worlds with abundant exploration, trading, factions, loot & in-depth leveling and in-game customization - key elements crucial to true RPGs - and would have challenged the likes of open world greats such as Fallout, Witcher, Elder Scrolls etc. The fact that it falls way short is hugely disappointing... and concerning for all serious gamers and the RPG genre.

The time spent drip-feeding DLC for cash could have been spent developing true RPG masterpieces and by taking the easier dollar-friendly option Bioware have sold their soul.

RagTagBnd4455010d ago

I hope you are not talking about Fallout 3 and Oblivion being better?

jdktech20105010d ago

I didn't like Oblivion much at all while I loved (and continue to do so) ME and DA series....I didn't buy Awakening or the DLC for either because I just don't have the money to spend on those with so many great full games coming out this year but I'm awaiting Dragon Age 2 and certainly ME3

asyouburn5010d ago

this game is great! keep adding stuff, bioware! my monies are yours

BioWare Could be Working on More than Just Dragon Age Dreadwolf and Mass Effect 4

Earlier this year, BioWare was hit with layoffs as part of a downsizing of parent company Electronic Arts, but fans have been reassured that the next Mass Effect game hasn’t been impacted. Likewise, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf’s development is still churning along, with BioWare putting it at the forefront of its focus and rumors suggesting that it could launch sometime later this year. Fans might be getting another look at the long-in-development Dragon Age: Dreadwolf at the Summer Game Fest in June.

If the recently posted job offering for a temporary development manager is any indication, BioWare could have yet another surprise up its sleeve for when Mass Effect 4 and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf are nearing completion. This mystery BioWare video game could truly be anything, from another spin-off of its two major properties to something entirely new. All there is to go on at the moment is a vague mention in the job posting, and it might still be some time before BioWare is ready to confirm any new games in its pipeline.

So a studio that spent years on anthem then this dragon age thing is now also working on another ip along with mass effect,

You think they would be worried that there brand has been on 3 major screw ups

Dragon age 3 launched broken with the frostbite engine yes its a good game but you can see in the late game how rough it was

anthem......

Mass effect 4 well that dev team was fired so yeah.....

They should make sure this new dragon age is a goat instead of putting more work on the table

bababooiy41d ago

Bioware today is like 150 poeple i dont see how they are seemingly working on all these projects at the same time.

Michiel198941d ago

Inquisition wasn't broken, it just had some flaws and on the contrary it also had some strengths. If you call inquisition a major screw up then idk what to say.

That said with what happened to the study since then and now, I'm not really confident that their next game will be any good.

just_looken41d ago

If you played it fully to get plat like me back in its novemeber launch window you had that castle with empty area's endgame missions not there or working and a mp that was made around loot box grind like the mass effect mp.

Its hard to explain to those that played it years later after they tossed out the dlc/patch's

Michiel198941d ago

entitled much? I played it at launch too. Why you even platted it if it was a "major screw up"?
It was good enough for you to sink 100 hours in but also a complete fuckup at the same time, make up your mind.
So either you like shitty games or you're just talking out of your ass.

RaidenBlack41d ago

Well just wanna say, Archetype Entertainment is the new BioWare, composed of mainly ex-BioWare vets.
And they're developing Exodus (starring Matthew McConaughey), a new sci-fi RPG (spiritual successor to Mass Effect, dare I say?)

CantThinkOfAUsername41d ago

I hope it's a single player game with Anthem's gameplay mechanics.

Becuzisaid41d ago

They're owned by EA. What makes you think that they wouldn't publish for PS5? Shoot, if your fridge could connect to your bank account EA would try to release it for that if they could!

Double_O_Revan42d ago

How about they focus on those games and not over extend themselves? We don't need another Anthem.

Becuzisaid41d ago

Bioware died after Inquisition (some would even argue after ME3). They are no longer the same company.

New Mass Effect Game Teased for N7 Day, and It Shows a Mysterious Individual

Today is known as Mass Effect N7 Day, and BioWare has released what looks to be teasers for the new Mass Effect game.

Snookies12188d ago (Edited 188d ago )

We really need another solid Mass Effect entry. It's a real shame that such a legendary franchise was left off with such a blemish to its overall astounding track record. Andromeda was just not it, don't know what they were thinking there.

-Foxtrot188d ago

Surprised it got a subtitle

I thought after Andromeda they’d have kept to the numbers so people wouldn’t think “oh another spin off”

Unless Shepard returns

Obscure_Observer187d ago

"Unless Shepard returns"

After ME3, Shepard should f* off

Stanjara187d ago

Put a chick in it and make her gay.

Ethereal186d ago

Yes! One of my all time favorite trilogies. Hopefully they do ME justice. Andromeda was passable and had bones of a good game but just lacked the depth and intrigue that the originals had.
