Sega Ready To Announce Valkyria Chronicles 3 For PS3?

Oh, now come on Trey, we all know that you sound a little biased here. Sure, the ps3 is really coming into its own now with probably the best lineup of first party exclusives on current gen consoles, but the wii and 360 also have very diverse libraries since they were popular right away in 2006. Although the other two consoles are slowing down now (especially 360. Whats up Microsoft?) a consumer can still get a very wholesome gaming experience from any of the three consoles which bodes well for the gamer.

don't know if sega will want to keep this exclusive though. tbs games haven't done well at all on the 360 and thats putting it mildly but vc has gotten a good rep so maybe sega may try their luck on the 360 too.

if they do that then they'll probably do multiplat vc portable games on the ds too

The sales of the 2nd game will decide if it's on PS3 or PSP again.(or maybe PSP2)

I honestly don't think it will announced at TGS because the game will not have been out long enough in the US and EU to see if they want to make it on PS3.

That is unless it sold a metric crap load on the PSP in Japan alone and then perhaps that would mean they are doing it regardless of sales in the US and EU.

A fan asked a rep from Sega is there was a chance that they would ever port the 2nd game to the PS3 and while he said it was possible he also said it would take a very long time and was very unlikely so I don't think it's happening anytime soon if ever.

Sega can't make it for the 360, VC is a joint venture between Sega and Sony, Sony has produced and broadcasted the anime to help Sega establish the franchise. In their exclusivity deal Sega keeps the property and publishing rights on the games, while Sony keeps the property/publishing rights on the music and helps promoting the franchise with future TV productions.

The NA version alone out sold the japanes version 2-1, and overall it’s a bigger seller than Yakuza 3, it's also the 2nd best selling JRPG for the ps3 and maybe this whole generation. So I think it has become a big franchise for Sega.

That to me is pretty much confirmation that the game exists. TGS would be the perfect time to announce it. Disgaea 4, Tales of Graces F, New Tales of, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and now Valkyria Chronicles 3. TGS should be a good event for PS3 RPG's.

porting it shouldnt be to hard, hell they have vc1 models reskin those redo maps cutscnes and speeach

porting ps2= ps3 is harder if you have to make stuff up but textures and maps arem cuh eaiser when you have a base to workfrom

I love the Valkyria Chronicles, i don't buy the 2nd one as i don't have a PSP yet. But i will consider it when they announce the 3rd in the series. I love this JRPG.

I really liked the first one, but never finished it. It felt a little bit hard and the slow turn based gameplay didn't help to keep my interest.

Still, I really think it is a great game and hope to take on it some day.

Here's hoping VC3 becomes a reality soon.

I never finished the first either. I loved the gameplay and the story, but a combination of other great games coming out, and the fact that I was at a really tough battle in that game combined to prevent me from finishing it.

I wonder if they'll choose another catastrophically bad release date, either a year or so late or around the same time as a big blockbuster title? With Yakuza, Valkyria Chronicles, and their support of Platinum Games (Clover), SEGA has created and/ or published a fantastic collection of games this generation. They are just spectacularly bad at marketing and as a result are just known by most for bad Sonic spinoffs.

I really hope so the 1st game is still by far my favorite game this gen, and am still alittle bummed I won't be able to play the 2nd as I don't own or want a PSP. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is true.

we can only hope for now but VC1 was great, wish it had trophies but that didnt take away from it. but until we get a clear answer i will be getting VC2 next week(and KH:Birth By Sleep the week after.) PSP is putting out a lot of good games this year. I still need to beat Ys Seven.

I hope they add capturing enemy units to the gameplay
