Huge Line-up of Amazing Games....

8-bit5003d ago

It is really crazy to think that those are all exclusive titles

Makidian5003d ago

@blitz It's likely the game is just isn't ready to have a launch window ready to be nailed down yet. Ratchet and Clank A4O says fall 2011 at the end of the trailer but it's pegged for 2011 on the list. I personally hope that Resistance 3 comes out between inFamous 2 (late spring-early summer) and Ratchet and Clank A4O (late summer-mid fall) as that would be a perfect round out for the summer months and give each game enough space to stand on it's own.

raztad5003d ago

September and October (save for Dead Nation) are pure casual stuff for MOVE. I'll be gettin Sport Champions in the MOVE bundle anyways and I dont care for anything else.

In november looking forward to AC:B (not Sony exclusive but looks good), LBP2 GoW:GoS and Sly Collection.

Next year is gonna be much more interesting.

Cloudberry5002d ago

Don't forget another exclusive, YAKUZA 4 in Spring 2011.

Indeed, keep the content coming cause PSN is booming

MuleKick5003d ago

That's a lot of effin' games!!!
How do I come up with the funds for all this???
Any ideas??
LOL

ALFAxD_CENTAURO5003d ago (Edited 5003d ago )

Watching the list of Quality and Variety of Games.

I doubt I will buy Multiplatform Games, and that Include PC System.

I will save more for the PS3 Exclusives.

My Wishlist of 2010:

PlayStation Move + Move Games
Gran Turismo 5
Little Big Planet 2

PSN Games:
Tumble
Echochrome ii
Dead Nation

How do I expect to Play on PC or Xbox 360 with the incoming Games on PS3?

callahan095003d ago

Dead Nation comes out in October? That's the first I heard an official window! Awesome! The game looks amazing.

EVILDEAD3605003d ago (Edited 5003d ago )

I agree with Razted above..

If you take away PSN and PSP from this list it's clear Sony is betting the farm on Move + casual games and finishing the year off with Gran Turismo..

I say this ALL the time..Sony NEVER maximizes their lineup in the second half to maximize sales of it's big exclusives..

Look back at 2009..

I bought Uncharted 2 day one like many PS3 owners and it colected all the big rewards

But the truth is God of War 3 DESERVED November 2009 and NOT March 2010

GOW3 had the biggest buzz and anticipation level and IMO would have have a greater impact on the console sales than UC2..

In fact, had GOW3 been released instead of UC2..you would have seen all of the 2009 Game of the year awards hands down go to my boy Kratos and Drake would have owned 2010..

But I digress..but look at this year's Sony lineup and you can see that they could have scheduled the releases a lot better..

First off..the Socom 4 push back reduces the impact MOVE could have had this year..

Could you imagine an October MOVE launch w/ Socom 4 leading the way and the Heavy Rain redux all launching the same day?

You can't hate on sony for trying to push the peripheral release ahead of the Halo Reach madness..

The problem is pushing the Litlle Big Planet sequel into the the November death trap from Hades..it makes zero sense..

October is perfect for LBP2 because it would have fared well against Fable 3, Fallout 3, Enslaved, and Medal of Honor

But let's keep it real it's going to get lost between the EPIC PS3 battle of Gran Turismo 5 vs. Call of Duty: Black Ops battle that's going to ensue..

Not to mention how PS3 fans also love the Assasin's Creed franchise..

I don't believe for one second that they would release DC Online with so little gaming press.that's an easy push back in 2011..or it may FAIL

As for next year..I would have have pushed Motorstorm up mid-January and offered a FREE copy of the Japan only release of 'MotorStorm Complete'..who wouldn't buy that package..

Save February for K3 and let's face it NOTHING else on that list hasthe consumer strength to be released successfully prior to E3..

I'm just praying to the gaming Heavens that Sony announces a 1st quarter ICO/Shadow of the Collosus HD collection at TGS and of course the 2011 GOTY contender 'Last Guardian'

I see all of the Infamous 2 and Twisted Metal talk and that's cool..

But if Sony pulls of a 4th quarter 2011 with

Sep- Uncharted 3
Oct. Last guardian
Nov. Resistance 3

It would be an extremely uphill battle for the other consoles to compete with that..

Just my take

Too fun to be a gamer these days..

Evil

Makidian5003d ago

While your logic makes sense in theory there remains the yearly problem of Call of Duty cannibalizing just about every game sale in November. If Gran Turismo wasn't so popular they wouldn't release it in November either because so many people pick up the new CoD. I think LBP is safe because it caters to a very broad group of gamers from casual-hardcore. I actually think a summer or winter (post-Christmas) would allow games like Resistance to stand on their own without a lot of competition surrounding them and actually improve their sales and then by the time Christmas roles around, or Black Friday, they can drop those prices and/or bundle to further boost sales.

EVILDEAD3605003d ago

'I think LBP is safe because it caters to a very broad group of gamers from casual-hardcore'

Honestly it doesnt matter what a game caters to when you are talkng about holiday gaming sales..and don't get me wrong..the game will sell..

But let's be 100% real..if you were trying to maximize sales would you choose to release LBP2

In October?..the same month as it's predecessor was released..but again a month that has little competiton..the positive press that the likely high reviews won't be drowned out by other releases..

Or release the game in November?..but let's paint the November picture to put the games release in perspective..

November 2..Gran Turismo 5
November 9..Call of Duty: Black Ops
November 16 Assassin's Creed vs. Little Big Planet 2

Tough crowd to say the least..

As for Resistance..it's ALWAYS been released in November..so if I'm a betting man I'm saying the 3rd will be released in November 2011 as well

Biggest5003d ago

LBP2, just like LBP, will sell continuously. Looking at that list. . . WTF November? I guess September and October exist only to allow money saving. No Buffalo Wild Wings on Sunday for 8 weeks.

ChozenWoan5003d ago

Sept and Oct is when you go and prepurchase the games so all you have to do come Nov is walk in and pick them up.

Sevir045002d ago

The other thing is the Fall 2011 is the release of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. it says it right after the trailer ends.

LBP has proved itself to Sony with teh release of both the comercially successful LBP on PS3 and the Later released PSP edition which sold about 1.5 million. Not bad.

AC has become something of a power house in the november releases.

So id say. With Sony double teaming both activition and Ubisoft with a Mega Franchise like GT and and new powerhouse like LBP 2 I'm pretty sure it'll be a successful month. black ops and Ac will still rake in the high sales but Sony has some promising franchises to do some great numbers. I only hope consumers see the quality. because everyone seemed to have moved their games again into Q4 of 2011 like they did with 2010.

I dont think LBP 2 or GT5 has anything to worry about. i KNow GT5 will do well but lets face it, the title that will rake in the Big money will be Black Ops with teh other titles doing well for the month. though i agree. Sony should have also Moved GOW3 into Fall like a Nov to offset the MSxActi Marketing of COD madness.

We shall see. it'll be an interesting Holiday season.

Move
Reach
COD vs GT5
LBP
Kinect
Christmas!!! this will be a massive battle for bucks. I cant wait to see the blood after all this is done. January 2011 brings the year in 2010 report card for Holiday sales. I dont really play Sales but it's always cool to know how each platform holder has done over the holidays, It'll be interesting to see how the Move and Kinect Hardware fairs againts Ninty's SteamRoller known as teh Wii. :-)

PshycoNinja5002d ago

you going to Insomniac's Community Day this year (if they have one)? It would be awesome if they showed us some R3 goodness like they did last year.

Sevir045002d ago

but i doubt it. the community day is actually a pre release party for their games launching not too far from the event. This Year insomniac has no Games releasing for PS3. if they do have one i'll prolly be in NC because that studio's game will be releasing Next year and is a bit further along than Burbank's R3. Still I'm hoping the Burbank Studio has something to show this year. R3 was just revealed... and the game play trailer if it follows their reveal sched will be somewhere arpund nov or Dec to coincide with Spike TV. In 08 they showed a teaser for R2 in Jan and a public unveiling on GTTV in May of that year with a full on Blow out AT E3.

So if anyting Id say everyone else will get to see something spectacular this Nov/Dec. as Sony gives the go one when it's time to show.

I didn't know DC Universe was so close to release. I hope it turns out to be fun, the last I saw of it it looked kind of lame.

Terarmzar5003d ago

I seen the video to that game and im gonna say it looked great!
but i still dont know if im going to get it.

TheBand1t5003d ago

It was on my 'maybe buy' list until it turned out to be pay 2 play.

tinybigman5003d ago

but MMOs are usually pay to play so why is this such a big deal.

DarkSpawnClone5003d ago

yeah same unfortunately i can't afford a pay to play game.it would be a good idea for Sony to have the subscription to this game be free for ps+ users i might actually get ps+ if it has this kind of stuff.

waltyftm5003d ago

Looks like i will be doing a spot of begging for cash come november, until my birthday on the 5th.

HeroXIV5003d ago

No way, no way in hell I'm going for any Activision fads this year. Too many genuinely great games that are worth my cash. :)

cyberwaffles5002d ago

i like how you said Activision fads instead of games. bubbles.

frankymv5003d ago

Very light september lineup

guitarded775003d ago

Sony is making sure September is all about Move.

frankymv5003d ago

unfortunately I see thats exactly what they're doing.

Don't be sad. It's just one month out of the year.

-Foxtrot344d ago

Yeah they had a lightning bolt in the shape of a question mark at the end of Infamous 2

They always went off the good ending for Cole so I think for Delsin it should be the bad ending

What he did in the bad ending, absorbing everyone’s powers, seemed like he was going to turn into something powerful.

Makes you feel like he could have been the real Beast and John was just an anomaly because of them messing with time

Sets up a Cole vs Delsin showdown

potatoseal344d ago

How would fans feel about a reboot? You know to bring a new audience in? Not a good idea? Good idea?

anast343d ago

Not a god idea. They let it sit for too long and the game hasn't been strong enough to carry itself all these years. There is so much other stuff out there right now.

masterfox344d ago

Second Son was released in 2014 was an amazing game visually and gameplay wise, sometimes I play it again on the PS5 and seeing it run at 60 fps is something to behold(yes an almost 10 year old game), if you haven't done that on your PS5 try it you won't be disappointed, pure eye candy, a PS5 exclusive of Infamous would be amazing no doubt.

gold_drake344d ago

meh, i want Cole to come back.

or maybe a reboot. with cole.

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138359d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim359d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC359d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138359d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle359d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

Revisiting PS3 classic Motorstorm - The driving celebration that should never have ended

Digital Foundry : Evolution Studios' Motorstorm is one of the first, finest and most fondly remembered of launch titles for PlayStation 3. It's a release designed to answer the question posed by each new console generation: what makes a game 'next-gen'? With its robust physics engine and massive tracks, Motorstorm serves up a bold affirmative answer to this question, delivering an experience that could never have existed on prior console hardware. At the same time, the path to release was fraught with challenges that almost serve as a microcosm of the PlayStation 3 release situation itself. It was a success, however, with a trilogy of PS3 releases, plus PSP, Vita and even PS2 off-shoots.

After Driveclub and Onrush, the dev team will now contribute to and assist with the development of the upcoming NFS.

darthv72713d ago

I would give anything to have a full compilation of the series remastered to play on PS5 with full DS support. Feeling the deformation of the tracks as you race in pacific rift or the snow laden tracks in arctic edge... that would be sweet.

MastaMold713d ago (Edited 713d ago )

Yes MotorStorm World Tour for PS5 damn it Sony make it. The Desert, Pacific Islands, The Arctic and City races.

Army_of_Darkness713d ago

Motorstorm Pacific rift was awesome! I think MotorStorm: Apocalypse was what killed the franchise due to its change of direction...

darthv72713d ago

Pacific rift is the best (IMO) but apocalypse wasnt what killed it. At least it was still somewhat of a MS game. The RC one is really a departure from the norm. None of which were bad as they were all fun in their own ways.

Army_of_Darkness713d ago

Lol! I completely forgot about the RC version.

Knushwood Butt713d ago (Edited 713d ago )

RC was a blast to play on Vita.

Apocalypse had unfortunate timing due to the 3/11 earthquake in Japan. I never got around to playing that one.

Evolution had some harsh experiences. I had Driveclub from launch and the server issues weren't that bad and certainly didn't prevent you from enjoying the game.

ABizzel1713d ago

Agree Apocalypse didn't kill it, it's just racing games in general just became less popular nearing the end of the PS360 generation as it was flooded with medicore racers and the extremely niche but enjoyable ones like Motorstorm, Blur, Spilt Second, and Forza Horizon (still going strong, but actual sales have been decent fro a racer, and often expanded by console bundles and now GamePass)

But since the PS4/XBO generation had a lack of arcade racers, it's a prime time for games like this to come back.

I've said for the longest, the additional income of PS+ Premium should be used for, Remastering, Remaking, or recreating sequels / spinoffs of classic PS franchises to launch into the service. Many PS3 games fit this mold of looking good enough that a quick remaster to 4K@60 with better texture maps would give them near PS4 quality.

Remasters: A game like Motorstorm look good enough where it can simply be remastered in 4K @ 60fps, and have better textures for mud, mountains/rock structures, and vehicles and it would hold up WELL.

Remakes: Games like Legend of Dragoon, Warhawk (could be a simple remaster also), and so many others could get remakes like FF7.

Recreates: Shorter sequels/prequels/spin-offs to other classic PS IPs like how Infamous First Light / Blood Festival (BF was a highly underrated vampire game) and Uncharted Lost Legacy. Give spin-offs to things like Heavenly Sword, The Order 1886 (1786 or 1986), Puppeteer, Tokyo Jungle, and more.

ABizzel1712d ago (Edited 712d ago )

This is also why Sone NEEDS to get PS3 emulation up and running. It gets rid of all the PS3 server farms and replaces it with software that can work on EVERY future PS console with updated coding.

At bare minimum emulation could double the resolution and framerates of all PS3 games making many of them 1440p@60fps without any real work, and a few 4k@60fps.

As for full-on remakes again updating to 4K@60fps with completely revamped textures, and an option for 1440p@60fps with global illumination can make these games shine with a new lease on life.

Also I'm still waiting on my DriveClub 1440p@60fps update 😭

ChiefofLoliPolice712d ago

Apocalypse was actually pretty good i don't think that's what killed the series. PR was the best though.

akurtz713d ago

darkrider713d ago

Really cool franchise. It's shame it ended

RosweeSon713d ago

Never really got into it myself I remember getting it with ps3 and being a bit underwhelmed I preferred the RC version they did for vita 🙌🏻🤣

EvertonFC713d ago

Going from ps2 to ps3 was not underwhelming when I first played motorstorm, it was like nothing we'd ever seen before ?

RosweeSon713d ago (Edited 713d ago )

Each to their own didn’t like it myself. 🤷🏻‍♂️✌🏻 ;I didn’t say going from ps2/3 was underwhelming just the launch game motorstorm, bit different but hey ho.

PS3 was a slow burner for me it’s my least favourite Sony console, maybe as I had my 360 as my main at that point but yeah wasn’t impressed with first couple of years to be honest but that’s just me. Once uncharted MGS4 GT5 Last of us GTA4/5 dropped sure but launch games weren’t all that imo. Resistance was alright wasn’t as big a change as ps4 or even now ps5 for me. PS3 took out rumble and basically went HD it’s wasn’t exactly a revolutionary start. 🤷🏻‍♂️✌🏻 ;
