As regular IGN readers would know, EA's Skate is breaking all the rules when it comes to the skateboarding genre. The game is all about tactile control - feeling like you're actually skating, as opposed to just pressing buttons. The new 'Flickit' controls are obviously a huge component of this approach, but there are plenty of other examples that are a little bit more behind the scenes. The camera, for instance, has been designed to mimic the in-your-face style of skate videos - low to the ground, the camera's actually being held by another guy on a board. The effect is impressive. So impressive, in fact, that IGN got in touch with Nick Burke, the Technical Artist on Skate, to find out how they did it.
Full Circle’s new Skate The Board Room episode promises only the best threads and customization, without the need to spend any cash.
The time to play the new Skate game on PS5 and Xbox is approaching, as Full Circle confirms console testing will be arriving next year.
These guys are pretty cringe. Also the look of the new skate looks boring compared to games like Skater XL and Sessions. I'm not a fan of the arcade skate Sims
It won't be pay-to-win and none of the map will be behind a paywall.
I mean it could work. They could easily sell branded cosmetics which could pull in quite a bit of money if done right, but I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed. I'll try it cause I really like the series, but it'll suck if this fails cause I really like the series lol
