GC2010 interview: Ray BioWare confirms intro content for ME2 PS3, included DLC, more

VG247 Writes:

BioWare boss Ray Muzyka, speaking in Cologne today, has told VG247 that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 is to include introductory content to provide a “seamless introduction” to the IP’s universe, as well as confirming the inclusion of DLC and access to the Cerburus Network.

Nice. So, the problem of "what about ME1?" has been addressed. Sure, play ME1 if you can because it's a great game, but for PS3 gamers who did not play the first game, this is a great solution.

And Cerberus Network support?

Man, this plus Dead Space 2 to start off 2011. Daaaang!

Cerberus network will be there simply because it is just a disguised EA anti-used market component.

Anyone know how much extra playing time the 360 DLC amounts to?

Megaton5022d ago (Edited 5022d ago )

From my own personal experience...

Zaeed Loyalty: 1 hour
Kasumi Loyalty: 1 hour 30 mins
(you can use those two for the entire game)
Firewalker/Normandy Crash Site: 1 hour
Overlord: 2 hours

Don't know how long Liara and the Shadowbroker will take. If I had to guess I'd say at least as long as Overlord. It sounds like it's easily the most important DLC so far.

Websites and Blogs go crazy over all things Sony, and this time, cause they are smart, EA are riding it with them!

R2D25022d ago (Edited 5022d ago )

any one notice the lack of PS3/Move articles last few months becasue every one is talking about Reach and Kinect.

If your going to flame a console at least be fair and flame the other.

Edit: Plus N4G does not equal the entire web.

nickjkl5022d ago (Edited 5022d ago )

what are you talking about their was a bunch of ps3 move articles before games com

but this is right after a media event when the objective is to create hype and announce new things and yet there no news about microosft xbox 360 or kinect

even nintendo has news from gamescom and they werent even at gamescom

nycredude5022d ago

EPIC!

I think what R2D2 is trying to say is that when September comes and every website is talking about Halo Reach, you should not be bias and post if any one has notice the lack of PS3 new lately.

I not sure what your point was with your statement but I know your not new on N4G and your statement is an invitation for people to flame.

I was hoping they'd do an introduction..

Ether5022d ago

Cool, sounds like the lack of ME1 won't be much of a problem at all, story-wise.

Optical_Matrix5022d ago

"bu bu butt teh M4sszzZZ EffexxTtt 1!!" - No. Just. No.

This sounds good. Bonus content, the DLC, plus special introductory for the PS3 SKU. Sounds like an awsome package to me. I'll be picking this up in January 2011. Will be a good way to start the year!

SimpleSlave43d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan43d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
