Is Scott Pilgrim the Game Better Than Scott Pilgrim the Movie?

Can a solid-yet-simplistic video game be better than an innovative-yet-hollow movie? Read on to find out.

How do you compare a game and a movie?

rdgneoz35011d ago

Same way people compare exclusives on different consoles.

gamerzBEreal175011d ago (Edited 5011d ago )

that's differn't there in the same genre and in catogory of VIDEO GAMES how can u compare a 1:30 film to a old style side scroller? by graphics? by game play? by online? lmao

rdgneoz35010d ago

They "may be from the same genre" (though different hardware and do they both use the same disk format? same thing as comparing a book and its movie or in this case a game and a movie based off the same comic book). You compare them as the author did, how well they feel compared to what they were based off of.

ThatArtGuy5011d ago

The same way people compare books and movies.

zatrox5010d ago (Edited 5010d ago )

But alot of movies are based on books.

@rdgneoz3

I was just talking about the fact of comparing books to movies, in wich lotsa books get the upper hand by that same thing you just said.

rdgneoz35010d ago (Edited 5010d ago )

@zatrox And not all movies based off of books actually include everything from the books. In some cases when the books are long, they cut a bunch of things or shorten events by a lot.

bjornbear5010d ago

Da Vinci Or Plath?

or maybe...Wilde vs Dali?! or...how about stop comparing a movie to a videogame =P

if you want to compare "which one did you enjoy more"? well..thats personal.

haven't played the game or seen the film but i will =D

Their both great. I just havent seen anything as visually imaginative as the movie since the nightmare before Christmas.

meganick5011d ago

They're both different, and they're both good.

The 10 Best Comic Book Video Games of All Time

From Xfire: "You'd think that there would be more good comic book video games (outside of the obvious superhero ones) released over the years, but the truth is, they are quite rare. Thankfully, a growing number of studios are tapping into this valuable resource to bring audiences the best comic book video games."

This Doesn’t Redeem You, Ubisoft

Re-releasing Scott Pilgrim vs The World doesn't fix things quite that easily.

"But because of some absolute scumbags at the top, I can’t in good conscience even think about giving this company a dollar at the moment. It would be like if Konami suddenly announced that PT and Silent Hills was coming back that would be great, but you also have to wonder what made them changed their mind."

You really did not have much to go on, but that just exposed how out of touch, fan news driven and un-industry you are. I get that you think that your heros can do no wrong and all, but get back to gaming kiddo. Squeak on.

Meanwhile, they are looking for contributors to deliver more of this. :/

Should they just stop producing anything until people suddenly forgive them?

I had this on PS3. Absolutely a treasure and all the homages to retro gaming was brilliantly executed. If you want a beat ‘em up that feels a bit like Shovel Knight in its retro love and a River City Rampage RPG, this is for you.

The Wood1331d ago

Its a rarity when a Movie and its game land so well. Enjoyed both of these immensely

darthv721331d ago

I never saw the movie or played the game. I feel so left out but Im glad this is coming back so I can finally play it. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I still need to see the movie though.

The Wood1331d ago

You should definitely watch the movie. Fun film

Teflon021331d ago

Literally played through and 100%'d River City Girls and literally said to myself, they really need to rerelease Scott Pilgrim or I'm pulling out my PS3 again with it on it. IMO the best beat em up I've ever played. So happy, I legit may buy on switch, ps4 and PC

Chocoburger1330d ago

Probably the best game Ubisoft released for the past decade. The only digital game I've ever pre-ordered with no regrets. Fantastic game, not sure if I'll buy it again since I have my PS3 readily available.
If you enjoyed Turtles in Time, or Streets of Rage in the past, then don't let this game pass you by!

NecrumOddBoy1330d ago

I highly recommend Ubi Framework games like Valiant Hearts.

robtion1330d ago

The movie is directed by Edgar Wright (Cornetto trilogy) and is quirky and great fun.

The game is also great retro fun and has been unavailable for years as it was delisted from the PS3 store. Will definitely pick it up for PS4.

Unknown_Gamer57941330d ago

Is it odd that I never watched the movie, and read a bit of the first volume of the graphic novel and found it kind of boring, but love the game? I still have this on my PS3 actually. I never did get the DLC though so I'm glad this is happening. Now I just have to decide if I want it on my PS4 or Switch.
