TeamXbox: EA's Fantasy Football Interview

TeamXbox writes: "Play fantasy football on your Xbox 360 this year. You know you want to!

We spoke with Gerrold Smith, Sr. Product Manager on Fantasy Football and NFL Head Coach, about EA's Fantasy Football.

Q:This is the first year you guys are doing a Fantasy Football product outside of Madden NFL, like people play in the real world.

Gerrold Smith: We've actually done Fantasy Football online for about five years now, so one of the things we're trying to do is let people know that we actually have a site. So what we've done is taken some time and used our football expertise. But the big thing this year is we're bringing innovation to fantasy football its not just like you play at any other site. There are a lot of great features that you can now use on your Xbox 360 that can make a great and unique experience."

1UP: EA Sports Fantasy Football Preview

EA Sports Fantasy Football is a downloadable draft gadget for all you inartistic fantasy-football nuts who can't manage to papier-mâché together a draft board. Rather than doing it yourself, you pay to download this app via Xbox Live or PSN. You get more than a virtual draft board, though.

With each draft pick, you'll see a video clip, much like you would on ESPN of, say, Colts Pro Bowl QB Peyton Manning dropping back and tossing a deep ball, with his stats from last season at the bottom of the screen, along with his fantasy value. Each clip also comes with commentary about the player, though the app won't mock you for reaching and taking a player above his projected spot on the board.
