I know its rather weird and unlikely but I can't stop thinking of how cool a co-op on Rapture could be. Perhaps if the game sells are good enough, we could see co-op in a patch/update, expansion or the sequel.

The world of Rapture is being built for a single player experience. The player is meant to feel alone and isolated (it's part of the whole "mood" of the game). I think multiplayer would greatly change this, one of the main points of the game (at least that's what the devs always talk about). Well, that's my opinion.

Well spoken. Completely true. This is a true moody and atmospheric game. Personally, I always prefer singleplayer and I'm big fan of non-multi games but playing with Bioshocks great AI and echology with another friend is still hard to pass.

But I do believe that the game must be experienced the way it was intended and this could be the singleplayer experience of the decade. (Yes, I'm crazy about Bioshock)

There will be no multiplayer mode (99.99% sure). They are focusing on the single player to make it the best it can be (which is obviously turning out pretty damn good).

lol, sorry. But remember, a game doesn't need multiplayer to be amazing. Just look at Oblivion! IMO, it's better this way. It means the campaign won't be a let down like some games when their attention is split between two modes.

More games should take that route. Instead of throwing in some multiplayer that feels tacked on (like the darkness), just focus all your time on making the single player game the best you can. I'm really looking forward to this one. Atmospheric fps (doom 3, fear, half life2 etc) are my favorite genre.

Its different you XBOT. Bioshock developer was quoted with Gamepro saying that they are only focusing on XBOX 360 and Windows right now, but that's basically saying it may be a timed exclusive. Konami had their doubts at first, but then came out and announced it was an exclusive at E3 and then Sony's Peter Dille stated to Gamasutra that they signed an exclusive deal with Konami to bring MGS4 EXCLUSIVE. Even Peter Moore said MGS4 is PS3 exclusive, to Kotaku. Ever noticed how no one from MS ever said "we signed a deal with 2K, Bioshock is a permanent exclusive?" No right? Yeah, thats because its not!

I think we can all agree that when Executive heads are showcasing their product at a special expo (in this case X06), there probably apt to spin certain truths. For example, at this years E3, Jack Tretton (I think thats how you spell it?) stated that UT3 and Haze were EXCLUSIVE to the PS 3. He did not mention that it was a timed exclusive. The same case could have been for Peter Moore as well.

right now, what we know for sure is that Bioshock has been announced only for the 360 and PC. the developers/publishers have not yet stated whether or not Bioshock is EXCLUSIVE- and its the developers voice that counts.

They won't announce a PS3 version, especially not in some trailer released between two huge events (E3 and LGC).
Sony would have made a BIG deal about it on one of these events.

Further more, they are not going to announce a PS3 version when the 360 and PC version are about to release. It would only hurt sales and thus would be incredibly stupid.

Also, IF it was coming to the PS3 sometime next year, they'd still wait with an announcement because it would damage potential 360 sales.
MS would've made sure Irrational kept it quiet untill atleast some time after the game launches on the 360 and PC.

The developers only ever stated that it was LAUNCHING exclusively on Xbox 360 and PC, I know it's a stretch, but they never actually said " it isn't in progress and never will be for PS3". Whereas Konami did say this, MGS4 is exclusive to the PS3, without a doubt. But, of course(I know "stretching it"), 2K left room for doubt with their statement.

Not to mention the interesting fact that it was in development for PS3, before 360 mind you, then announced for 360/PC, and then just abruptly "halted" on PS3.

I just find that interesting, in the end it doesn't matter as I will have it for my **NEW** 360 which arrived today. I just don't think it's right to squash PS3 owners(me included) for even saying that it's a possibility, which by all means it is, just don't expect to see it soon(like Sunday's announcement)

Cant believe some of you kids think that its coming to PS3 so soon. You have to be a returd to think that. It may come later, but 2008 is the SOONEST it could possibly be on it.

Its a special announcement for 360 gamers. This is what you get when you pay a measley $4 a month. XBL demos. XBL is great! I love paying $4 a month to get demos for every game, especially CoD4 and Bioshock, along with downloadable content for a majority of the games.

Alot of fanboy hearts will be flushed down the toilet when they learn the dissapointing news.

Dont cry, you might have it next year. More waiting.

360 gamers might get MGS4 by the time PS3 gamers get Bioshock.

What the hell is wrong with some of you people I mean this thread was pretty simple yet it has been blown way out of what its suppose to be about. There are posts in here about how crappy the 360 is and how it has no games and its failure rate all of this has NOTHING to do with the thread. I usually dont comment about fanboys but recantly it has been so bad here that it is almost impossible to have a decant posts about a subject matter without it turning into a flame war. I mean its bad on both sides we have d#ck heads that bash the ps3 on a ps3 thread and we have d@ck heads doing it on 360 threads. One example is(there are many for both but this one is the one I remember) A thread that was talking about the gta exclusive content for the 360 had just over half the posts knocking the 360, one guy posted sales figures for that week. WTF has that to do with the thread? This seems to be the trend recantly. I think this site is great hell I get news about games and the next gen system way before most people just cause I come here it just kind of sad that I cant post to many coments here and expect a logical non fanboy response. I know this wont make a blind bit of diffrence to the poeple who act like dumb sh@ts but b@tching about it sometimes helps lol. Good gaming

Jesus, it's so easy to please everyone. So far there's only a grand total of 4 (lame) ideas:

1. Demo
2. PS3
3. Wii
4. Multiplayer (which would be cool if it were co-op)

Wait?! Didn't they already confirm a demo? A couple months back...

How about some new ideas? Think outside the box for a minute or two:

1. What if you can play the game from the perspective of different characters? They've put a ton of time/effort into creating each enemy, imagine if you unlock "Big Brother" mode after beating it?

2. What if it's open ended, and they add downloadable content for new sections/powers/enemies? (Think the hatches from Lost)

Just some 'different' ideas. Sorry to rustle the feathers.

I don't see how this game can be rated E (as was mentioned above) the trailer clearly shows quite visceral goings on, plus there's guns. Can't be E...

We already know the demo's coming, people should really stop suggesting it's that.

There's only two weeks until its 360 / PC release but apparently we don't quite know everything there is to know about Bioshock.

According to our mates at Kotaku, Irrational Games is set to make a surprise Bioshock announcement on US telly this weekend, alongside a brand new trailer. "You won't want to miss this!," US tv show Game head promises.

OO-eer, what could it be? Confirmation of the PlayStation 3 version? Download Content details? 'Capture the little sister' deathmatch?

We can't see them announcing the PS3 version before the 360 one's out the door, but we'll let you know exactly how surprising the news is after the weekend.

UPDATE: A reliable source tells CVG that the announcement will involve Xbox 360 download content - sepcifically downloadable plasmids for the console version. We'll let you know how good our info is on Sunday.
