gotta get my trigger finger bandaids ready. dont wanna catch blisters from all the ownage imma be doing in this game :)

candystop5035d ago (Edited 5035d ago )

This to me is the best looking fps to hit consoles to date. Looks better than any KZ game and it's a freaking open world. Beautiful graphics and lighting A+ gameplay and feature rich content equal the game of this generation.

Edit: Sorry folks this is my opinion. I can't wait to start seeing Reach commercials.

SOAD5035d ago

beautiful art style, but don't pretend that it has better texture quality or special effects quality than other games.

candystop5035d ago (Edited 5035d ago )

I'm giving an honest opinion and here you go telling me my opinion is wrong pretty much lol. Yes the art style is beautiful but the way Reach is looking I don't think it needs a ton of special effects to detract from what it really is. Also when I saw the space ship thing taking off in earlier E3 footage the effects and sound were both pretty high in overall quality. Now when I say KZ I'm talking about part 2 which I'm sorry doesn't look this good and doesn't have as much going on even though it's known for special effects.

edit: And like I said I need to see this game running on my tv to judge it's visuals. I'm not sure if these are shots have been touched up or the game actually looks this good. For a console on crutches you gotta admit this looks good.

Bobbykotickrulesz5035d ago

Well your honest opinion is completely retarded.

In my honest opinion, this game is a slight upgrade from Halo 3 in visuals. But really, I don't care about amazing graphics ALL the time. As long as the game looks good graphically and plays well, then I'm all for it.

I won't buy into the hype of this game until I purchase and play it myself. I played the beta and it was pretty fun for the short time I was online. In my opinion it's better than Halo 3. Graphically and gameplay wise. But not even close to as good as Killzone 2 graphically and as for gameplay? That's a matter of preference, maggot.

lowcarb5035d ago

SO candystop giving his view is a retard because you do not agree? Your such a douche especially if you think KZ2 looks better then these shots.

starchild5035d ago (Edited 5035d ago )

When people try to act like the textures are not great I have to wonder if something is wrong with their eyes. SOAD, I respect you for being a level headed gamer, but I think you are wrong about the textures and general graphical quality of Reach.

I would put the textures in Reach against those of any other first person shooter--COD, Killzone 2, MAG, Resistance--and it clearly has better textures than any of them. I played the beta and I really noticed the texture detail on objects and structures. The Call of Duty games and even Killzone 2 have somewhat flatter textures in comparison.

Oh and the character models are definitely a step above as well. There are very few signs of any low res textures on the character models in Reach, whereas I saw lots of low res looking textures in Killzone 2 and COD4.

As for the special effects, I think Reach has just the right amount. It has motion blur, but it isn't overdone like in some other games. Likewise for light bloom and other effects. They are there in just the right proportion, but not overblown.

I think the fact people have gotten so use to the general Halo look has caused them to kind of not really see the graphics for what they are. Otherwise I don't know how to explain how some people fail to recognize what an amazing looking game it really is.

SOAD5035d ago

Starchild, of course Reach's textures are better than MAG's and from what I've seen better than Resistance 2's, but the ground textures of Reach are clearly flatter than those of Killzone 2 and overall, the campaign textures of KZ2 (which is all I can remember) are better than Reach's in various areas, though there are low res textures in KZ2 as well.

Overall, Reach doesn't look as good as KZ2 overall. The gun models of KZ2 themselves put everything else to shame. But I love Halo more than Killzone, anyway. I have no problem saying that KZ2 looks better because I still play Halo more.

These screenshots look amazing.

This campaign is going to be awesome. Five more weeks until this is mine!

Scelestus5035d ago

if these screenshots are legit, we'll finally have a 360 game in full 1080p!!!!!!

gunboy735035d ago

1080p is a resolution in video output (thx to ANA chip).

Sitris5035d ago

Makes the game look crap, when in reality it looks great, why have these cartoony crap over the top? Let the engine shine without that junk

The BS Police5035d ago

That "yellow crap" as you so unkindly put it is an animation that shows that your shields have dropped.

Sitris5035d ago

couldnt they have made something that didnt make the image look average? Something other than a low res glowing color, look at some of the other images? They look stunning, i just personally have always hated that glow regarding the shields :P

Check out the image that has all the ships flying around, absolutely stunning, the game will be great but that yellow stuff is crap, just my opinion though.

wages of sin5035d ago

Another complaint in the long list of complaints from gamers this generation. Nothing is ever good enough, always something to moan about.

TrevorPhillips5035d ago

I'm going to keep saying this until the game releases

September 14th 2010 :D

RockmanII75035d ago

OMG its only 35 days away. seems like a week ago it was over 50.

TrevorPhillips5035d ago

Time is flying by quickly mate :)

YourFlyness5035d ago (Edited 5035d ago )

Bullshots?

not trolling, just asking...

big_silky5035d ago

If anything I'd say they were from the theatre mode so they could rotate and whatnot to get cool shots. I still see some jaggies, bullshots usually totally polish those out.

Bungie Replaces Marathon Director Amid Leadership Shakeup, Fears of Layoffs

Amid ongoing anxiety within Bungie following layoffs last year, the studio is now preparing for another shakeup, this time on Marathon.

Kaii64d ago

Layoffs should be hitting the incompetent management at this point.

Profchaos64d ago

Talk about mismanaged Bungie is a studio of tremendous potential and have made some of the greatest shooters to date. Sony pushed them to just make another Destiny style game and consult on other studios live service games and are now getting thrown under a bus as the pivot away from predominantly gaas games is unfolding.

I'd love to see a world where Bungie can focus on telling great sci fi stories again away from a live service dungeon but we all know that's a pipe dream

Rynxie64d ago (Edited 64d ago )

Are you serious? Do you just talk out of your arse naturally, or did it take years of being a POS?

Profchaos64d ago

You normally get so offended by internet comments or did it take years of being soft

purple10164d ago (Edited 64d ago )

Yes I see your point mate, someone clearly didn’t read the article.

Specifically the bit:

“Notably, multiple sources at the time and since have shared that Sony has largely left the studio to sort out its own troubles and was not responsible for the layoffs, with CEO Pete Parsons taking responsibility.“

He’s just spouting nonsense

Huey_My_D_Long64d ago

lol what so fucking hilarious is that you called him out so bad he projected him being offended onto you.

Its been well documented that Bungie's management has been more responsible for their shortfalls, even mentioned in said article that we are commenting on.

Its ok, just admit you didn't read the article.

MIDGETonSTILTS1764d ago

Arrowhead Studios will be Sony’s GaaS consult now.

Gameseeker_Frampt64d ago

I like how for some, it is never Bungie's fault. Microsoft, Activision, and now Sony - it is everyone else who is pushing Bungie to make all these bad decisions.

-Foxtrot64d ago

Thrown under the bus?

Are you joking? This is all Bungie, we all thought it was 100% Activision but it's clear the higher ups at Bungie don't have a clue how to run the studio and are more bothered about saving their own skin and the money that they rake in.

Sony gave them an extra $1.2 Billion to make sure that employees didn't leave and they didn't have to cut anyones jobs. Where did that money go because Bungie still cut peoples jobs and I bet you the higher management still kept a hold of their big fact paychecks and bonuses.

Sony invested poorly in this and the best thing they can do now is throw the old Bungie management out and take hold of the studio fully.

MIDGETonSTILTS1764d ago

Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Somebody at Bungie is the golden goose making great shooting mechanics, and the rest need to justify their paychecks.

This studio has had three owners and its never worked well with any of them....Management has issues

ChasterMies64d ago (Edited 64d ago )

Worked very well for Microsoft. Microsoft’s mistake was letting Bungie go.

Fearmonkey63d ago

it worked so well with MS that they so wanted to be away from them they bought the company back. Only to do it again with activision-blizzard, and then sold to Sony...Sony shouldn't have bought them...Bungie hasnt been the same for a long time..
