Destructoid writes: "In a gaming landscape that has grown increasingly splintered, EA Sports’ Madden NFL franchise remains one of the select few names that not only attracts a massive annual audience, but can rightly be called a mainstream cultural touchstone. Yet Madden’s die-hard following -- the people who line up to grab the game at midnight on launch day, year after year -- has been shrinking".

When it comes to sports curses, aside from the Chicago Cubs, there’s no more active superstition than the Madden curse. Since 1999, almost every year something bad has happened to the cover athlete of Electronic Arts’ bestselling Madden NFL franchise. Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis is the latest victim of this curse.
Nice score.
You got to be fucking joking
Being a Madden fanboy I still don't understand why this year's Madden is getting all these great reviews. There are still some glaring flaws in the gameplay and AI. The commentary is even worst and the animations are still unrealistic and gamey as hell. I'm buying it on day one merely because I have no other option, but there's no way I would rate it so high.
these sites who are giving this game a 9.5 are just nutz.
the retail game is not that much diff. than the demo (so I know from 2 personal friends who have the retail game),
this game based upon the demos is a 8.5 MAX
anyone scoring it more are just clueless, especially since they have not played much with the CoOP mode
sure they like gameflow, since they dont know how to play FB
for once in a long time I agree with IGN... 8.0
One of the only sport franchise from EA that I think should have an amazing score this year is the NHL series. Madden games was always a good series and is still awesome, but there wasn't any exceptional gameplay tweak this year as I know of. I didn't play the game so I can tell for sure, but with all the information roaming on the internet, those gameplay features aren't that much amazing.
The NHL series did surprise us with the Be a Pro in 2009, the new gameplay features like holding a player on the board and many others in 2010 and now they're finally adding a physics engine for checks and many other gameplay tweaks! even If I'm not a big fan of hockey, I think the NHl series should have the bigger praise. I didn't get much info on FIFA 2011, so maybe this one got more tweaks than the nhl series.
