VGArabia: Vanquish, the upcoming third person action game from Platinum games is shaping up to be one of the best games to be released in the second half of this year. In my opinion it makes Gears of War 3 and every other shooter look lame, slow and boring.

Odd choices for "best" more like you settled as these being the "best" that available to you at the time, cause a lot of these blow or were average to poor performers that ended up in bargain bin.
Missing too many great sci-fi titles here. The Void, The Resistance Series, Killzone 2 and 3, Enslaved, man.. there were so many, this is redicu-list.
I agree that Starhawk shouldn't be above Warhawk, however I must say that Starhawk multiplayer was incredible for its time! Many people wrote it off bc the single player was quite terrible, bc it was basically 1 huge tutorial for the multiplayer. But I can tell you never spent any significant amount of time in MP. It was doing incredibly tense base building w air, foot and land vehicle (and mech!) combat long before Fortnite was ever a thing.
I bet it would have been much better received if it had just ditched the story mode all together. So many people like yourself completely wrote it off based on reviews by reviewers that let the criticism of single player weigh heavily on their scores. I bet you didn't even play it.
There's also the less acclaimed 'assault on dark Athena'
( also, not saying this to you specifically but there's both resistance and killzone games on the list, it's amazing how even something so simple and innocent as a game list can be turned into misinformed vitriol here lol )

Long shot here but with him out of the picture... MS could get PG to finish Scalebound. As it is, the project was shelved and Ms still had all the work they had done up to that point. HK's mismanagement of multiple projects is what caused MS to pull the plug, but I feel they still wanted to get it done at some point.
if MS hasnt picked it up yet,it will never return. it was cancelled in 2017. 6 years ago.
MS owns the IP, not PlatinumGames.

Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023.
Phil better have that check ready. Hideki expertise and knowledge would be a great asset to the Xbox team and can possibly bring growth in the Asia region.
Phil already canceled a Kamiya game(Scalebound) so we know he doesn't have the check ready. And that check couldn't keep Shinji Mikami there either...but maybe?

@obscure as if one of ms's own studios would know how to get the game out the door in a great way. Remember what happened when they did that with Duke Nukem Forever?

Maybe after the certain story choices and direction for Bayonetta 3 they can hopefully make it more like the first two games.
i've always felt platinum games lack of growth/failures can be traced back to kamiya. He seems like a very troublesome person to work with

If this won't sell at least more than 2 million copies, then there is something wrong with gamers. This game is only single player there is no multiplayer in this game, but I'm pretty sure that the game will have high replay value like Bayonetta.
i reckon the voices that sound like they've been gargling gravel will start to get annoying after a while but the gameplay does look a lot of fun. I haven't read too much into the game but believe it's single player only in which case I'm hoping there's a decent length and lots of reply value
