Chibi-Robo DS Goes Wal-Mart Exclusive

The removal of the Nintendo DS game Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol from Gamestop's pre-order database raised many eyebrows and quickened the pulses of Nintendo fanboys. Had it been canceled?! Not at all, reported Nintendo. It was merely pushed back a few days and everything was going to be okay. Well, that's only partially true, as we've now learned that Chibi-Robo DS pre-orders were nixed for now obvious reasons.

New details from Nintendo, via Gamespot, shed more light on the disappearing mini-robot mystery. It seems that budget retailer Wal-Mart has secured the exclusive rights to sell the game in the U.S. when it's released on October 2.

If you're keeping score, that's a point in the win column for the opportunity to play the English language version of Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol and a point in the lose column for having to set foot in a Wal-Mart to do so. I suppose you could pre-order the game from Walmart.com, but where's the instant gratification in that?

I never played the Gamecube version. Is Chibi-Robo any fun? I might pick it up since the last DS game i bought was New Super Mario Bros.

"If you're keeping score, that's a point in the win column for the opportunity to play the English language version of Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol and a point in the lose column for having to set foot in a Wal-Mart to do so." That's the quote of the week.

SBG | Ten games we wish weren't on handhelds

SBG: "Writers Andrew Passafiume and Graham Russell tend to be on opposite sides of the debate when talking about handheld games: Andrew would usually rather be playing on a big screen, and Graham likes that lower system specs makes devs focus on gameplay. In this two-part feature, the two get together and make their picks of the games that best and least fit on a portable."

Top Ten handheld Nintendo games Europe was denied Part 2

3DS Tribe: "We continue our feature on the top ten handheld Nintendo games that Europe was denied with the last five on our list. We can guarantee to you that there isn’t much to call on that old phrase “Nintendo hates Europe” here, with the exception of one DS gem of course, that made it to Australia (another PAL region, even if PAL doesn’t apply to DS)."

Lost Nintendo Games Volume 1. Chibi Robo! 3

Ripten: "Chibi Robo! 3 came out in Japan last year on July 23 for the Nintendo DS. Since then I can’t recall Nintendo of America even talking about this game even though the first two games in the Chibi Robo! series have been released in North America."

I really wish this game was released here. ;_;

greeneggsnsam5049d ago

As a Nintendo fanboy, I'm not surprised. The GC one was actually really good, for a cleaning up game.

KingNintendoFanboy5049d ago

Yeah. It's probably one of the most overlooked GameCube games.

Nyaasu5049d ago

Man, I didn't even play the first 2. xD

zelda285049d ago

Nice job! That's a shame we didn't see it. I need to play first 2.
