IMO its like 1 step forward and two steps back...not enough innovation in each iteration to warrant a $60 price tag

Backbreaker is better, plus there company is more loyal to the fans

If its better than why did it sell less than 100k copies? Regardless of NFL rights, backbreaker was a broken game. nuff said

Even if the game did sell less than 100k copies, it certainly wasn't because of piss poor gameplay like madden....also, the update patch is now out that rectified alot of the previous problems the game had.

You'll be lucky if madden gets a couple patches a year, than the normal roster updates that you still have to pay $60 bucks for.

Backbreakers patch is free.....nuff said.

mostly because it didn't have the NFL license. Look at AP2K8. It's sales were also low, because it didn't have a full NFL license. The on-field game play was actually similar to NFL 2K5 (which a lot of football fans will say is the best football game of all times). But, people just wanted their NFL teams. Also, the perspective really threw a bunch of people for a loop. After playing football from the "eagle-eye" perspective, it is hard to get used to NOT being able to see everything on the field. Passing is not an easy task in BackBreaker. You WILL take sacks. It was a broken game (so is Madden by the way). But, it was also a pretty good game despite it's flaws. The immersion of being right down on the field has never been greater than BackBreaker. The physics are a true representation of physics....at times to a fault. I might even agree that Madden is a better game right now. However, it should be. It's been a franchise for over 20 years. BackBreaker is brand new. Regardless of anything else, there is no doubt that there are things in it that were revolutionary...like the physics. I can't remember the last time that Madden revolutionized a game play mechanic in it's game. I'm not knocking Madden as a game. I am just saying that it is NOT the holy grail of football. It's all that we have had for awhile.

I have purchased every Madden going back to early PC days, when it ran fine on 56K.
Based upon both the Live and PSN demos of madden this year. NO way am I going to buy it until a price drop.
I play 10x better without gameflow.

I would buy the game for CoOP, BUT NOT until someone says it actually works in terms of online play and camera.

NBA2K last year's CoOP with 5 on 5 was fun, but the lag killed it. The disconnects made in unplayable.

dont buy this years game for CoOp until its proven it works

Exactly, a certain amount of lag makes the online portion unplayable, yet you are still paying for it. If any game needs some competition, it's Madden.
