do Heavy Rain and Kinect have in common?

T9X695015d ago (Edited 5015d ago )

"Woah hold on! Yeah OK, we know, this is a PS3 exclusive. But before Sony exclusivity was announced, there was every chance that David Cage’s thriller could have seen a release on Xbox 360. It doesn’t mean we can’t speculate about how superb a Kinect edition of Heavy Rain would be. Quantic Dream wanted to immerse players in the game using a natural control method and what is more natural than your actual, physical movements? Go on, we’re asking you."

Reading the article will help you find your answer :)

EDIT: Well Heavy Rain was pretty much all quick time events so Kinect probably wouldn't have to many issues with Heavy Rain. You could use the controller for the walking around parts, and Kinect for the QTE. Just a thought.

cobraagent5015d ago (Edited 5015d ago )

But i still don't see how Heavy Rain could be a Kinect game even if it weren't a ps3 exclusive

mac_sparrow5015d ago

apart from quick aint something kinect is good at

You can leave your friends behind.....

XactGamer5015d ago

Cause your friends don't dance
And if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

mrv3215015d ago

They will both dissapoint the 360 core audience...

Heavy Rain: Actually being good and selling well.
Kinect: Kinectimals, Kinect adventures, Joy ride

Too mcuh 'Kinect' in Natals launch it's like the whole Wii thing of having Wii in the title.

Aquarius5015d ago

The 360 isn't even possible of replicating Heavy Rain's graphics.
Its only possible on PS3.

bobcostus5015d ago (Edited 5015d ago )

@Above

Ok, I have to say, that is total bullsh*t. Heavy Rain's graphics were down-right shit when compared to God of War 3 and Uncharted 2. Heavy Rain could easily run on a 360, maybe not at 720p, but still.

Aquarius5015d ago (Edited 5015d ago )

@above

WTF are YOU on about.
From what I can remember Heavy Rain looked real in most cases, it already has surpassed UC2.
Plus I am a PS3 owner and I still thought KZ2 looked better graphics-wise compared to UC2.

EDIT: WTF are you comparing UC2 to Heavy Rain in the 1st place. UC2 is cartoony. Heavy Rain is realistic.

bobcostus5015d ago

If you think Heavy rain looked better than Uncharted 2 you need your eyes examined. Uncharted 2 is superior to Heavy Rain in every single way. Heavy Rain was/is extremely overrated.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO5015d ago (Edited 5015d ago )

Heavy Rain is using the Tech of Nvidia PhysX. Can be done on Nvidia GPU's like the PS3.

(Was developed 1st by Ageia with a Chip, but now is it Nvidia).

On Xbox 360 is using ATI which is not a GPU from Nvidia and being more older to use a right way for Nvidia PhysX.

This is an easy one. Copy move controller and add buttons!!!

Some of those ideas will work, some won't. I would certainly be interested in iterations of Rampage and Bushido Blade.

Dacapn5015d ago

I don't know how any of those games would work with kinect. Movement is required in all those examples, so unless those games are on rails or you have to stand, move around, and hold the normal 360 pad, I don't see that being a fun, viable option.

The only idea that made sense was conversing with NPCs in Mass Effect. That'd be cool.

Chuk_Chuk5015d ago

Or you could add buttons.
Seriously how do you expect people to move around a 3d environment without buttons. The fight night one looks interesting but its going to be a pain in the ass to move around the ring. Unless its on rails.

FragMnTagM5015d ago

It is a small ring and taking a step back to move back or a step forward to go forward isn't too big a deal. Dodging left and right isn't too hard either. The Wii doesn't have a problem with boxing at all. Why would the Kinect?

XactGamer5015d ago

"Seriously how do you expect people to move around a 3d environment without buttons"

Uhh..... with your hands, feet and voice... kinda what you do in real life.

Biggest5015d ago

You seriously think that the range of the Kinect will allow for free movement? Aren't people complaining because their apartments barely have the room to play a non-moving Kinect game anyway? I watched Kinect have trouble capturing the entire body of people over 6'3" in height. I doubt you can move around your room with Kinect.

Optical_Matrix5015d ago

XactGamer...perhaps one of the dumbest comments I've seen on this website. You do walk around in real life, but that's because you have infinite space to do so. Do you REALLY believe walking on the spot in an 8ft living room space is appealing? Fact: Games that require direct control of characters on a 3D plain CANNOT BE DONE PRACTICALLY on Kinect without an input device.

Pillville5015d ago

It pleases hardcore gamers because now they can safely spend the $150 on Halo Reach Legendary Edition.

Pillville5015d ago

Wow. As of time i'm writing this, I have no Disagrees.

Fanboys(360&PS3) can't take that I said something bad about Kinect and something good about Halo.

Acquiescence5015d ago

would be a way to please the hardcore gamers.

Fight Night Round 5: We Want A New Fight Night Game

It’s been almost a decade since the critically acclaimed Fight Night Champion, the final title in a series of beloved boxing video games from Electronic Arts. Since 2011, the studio has been focused on its mixed martial arts title, UFC, instead. But with the rise of the popularity of boxing again, thanks to fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury, could we possibly have another Fight Night game on the way?

Undisputed looks like a ps3 game, cmon EA, stuff UFC, give the people what we really want which is a boxing game!!!

cnote00446d ago

IT'SSSSSSSS FIIIIIIGHT NIIIIIIGHT!!!!
I hope they make it like round four instead of champions but ill take any fight night at this point

Dabigsiebowski446d ago

They need to go back to the good roots of FN R2 and FN R3. Everything after watered down the formula too much and enabled gimmicks. FNR2&3 are some of the greatest fighting games ever.

Kurt Russell445d ago

3 was fun and you could smash out so many haymakers. But I found 4 more technical and enjoyed it for that too.

navi87445d ago

At least in 3 you had to wind up your shots, it was more skill based as opposed to 4 where you just held down L1 or R1 whilst flicking the analogue stick.

navi87445d ago

Agreed, i played FNR 3 the most on Xbox 360 back in the day and using the analogue sticks to kinda mimic punches thrown was fun af. FNR 4 ruined it by just flicking the analogue stick to throw hooks, felt really unintuitive after the previous games.

isarai446d ago

They'd ruin it like they do everything these days
