“PlayOn has established itself as the easiest way to consume online video on your home television screen in an affordable way, and now we’re ready to bring that same level of access to consumers on the go,” said Jeff Lawrence, CEO of MediaMall Technologies. “With this new update for iPhone and iPod touch, we are happy to offer a significant amount of additional value for PlayOn Premium customers.”
The popular PC application for streaming digital content from your PC to PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii has just added one of the fastest growing platforms around!
MediaMall Technologies, Inc. today announced that select users of the PlayOn service now have access to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa games live and post-game, available through the ESPN3 channel. PlayOn brings the World Cup action from the computer to your television screen, as it was meant to be seen. Internet service providers offering ESPN3 include Comcast, Cox, AT&T, Verizon and others.
PlayOn only requires the download of software to your PC and streams a full library of online video content to your TV via Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation3 or other DLNA-compatible network device.
Websites like Hulu and Comedy Central are great because they let you watch all of your favorite programs on demand, free of charge. What they don't let you do, however, is view that content on your big, shiny HDTV unless you have a PC hooked up. Enter PlayOn, which helps bring video from the Web to your TV via your gaming console.
Ars recently had the chance to speak with company CEO Jeff Lawrence to learn what we can expect from the service.
Nice alternative to Hulu Plus. And cheaper too.
I do like the idea of being able to stream Netflix on the iPhone
Free 14 day trial FTW right now. I'll work on the whole monthly installment
This maybe a reason to upgrade to the iPhone 4 now. Bet this will look awesome on that new screen of theirs.
"$39.99 for the first year, after that $19.99"
