GAP Members Get Exclusive Look Into Heavenly Sword

Members of Sony's online gaming community known as the Gamer Advisory Panel (GAP) recently received an e-mail directing them to an exclusive site where they could view the first two episodes of two Heavenly Sword productions. The first production is a stylishly animated series that will reveal the history of the Heavenly Sword in five weekly episodes. The second production is a five-part "Making Of" series that will focus on various aspects of the development process. Each episode will only be available for one week before it is replaced with a subsequent episode. For all those non-GAP members out there: keep your eyes peeled for these episodes to show up elsewhere.

ok that was kinda weird but w/e

LeonSKennedy4Life6122d ago

I'm in GAP and I never received an e-mail. Are you sure EVERY GAP member got one? I have a few friends in GAP too and they don't always receive the demos that I do.

LeonSKennedy4Life6122d ago

Even though I got no e-mail...I still signed in and that first video was AWESOME! I can't wait to see the others. It reminded me of the Fellowship of the Ring's opening sequence...of course...not as good...but nothing really IS.

The developement video was great! I'm glad I got to see it before a lot of you saps.

Siesser6122d ago

This is cool; I love getting perks. Sadly, with the end of the PS2 era approaching, I guess my collection of demo-discs and betas will come to a close :(

Meus Renaissance6122d ago

I hate GAP members. They get everything first and you have more chance of ending with Jessica Alba than you do then being accepted into this "Elite" underground club.

Siesser6122d ago

I'd trade my membership for Alba any day of the week. Just get her on the line, and I'll give you my account ;-)

Marceles6122d ago

lol ditto...I guess it was easier to get in when they first started GAP. I've been a member since the games Fighting Force and Nightmare Creatures came out.

MACHone6122d ago (Edited 6122d ago )

Back in the day, I subscribed to only about a month or two of the PlayStation Underground, and then stopped. Then, years later and after the PlayStation Underground went long dead, I received an envelope from Sony saying that as a thanks for being part of the Underground, I was officially inducted into the newly formed GAP. That's how I got in. Did everyone get in the same way?

Siesser6122d ago (Edited 6122d ago )

Yeah, I've been with it since the Underground CD Magazine days (man, those were cool) back on PS1. I think I got my membership stuff back in 2004.

Marceles6122d ago

I got in from filling out one of those playstation underground in an instruction manual and mailing it in. After awhile they mailed something about them having a new website, registered for that. A little while later they sent me something that said they are starting the GAP and I'm a member and sent me a membership card and t-shirt and hat.

MACHone6121d ago

T-shirt and a hat? I got gipped! All they sent me was a stupid certificate! Pfft.

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro64d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7264d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_64d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga64d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos64d ago (Edited 64d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt2364d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200064d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin64d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole64d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix64d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198964d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor64d ago (Edited 64d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Michiel198964d ago

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.

LoveSpuds567d ago (Edited 567d ago )

I recall enjoying it well enough at the time, but it wasn't a patch on God of War 3 which came out around the same time I think.

I own it and fired it up on my PS3 about 6 months ago and time hadn't been particularly kind to it although it still very much nailed the atmosphere and it is a cool as he'll setting and universe.

Inverno567d ago

Dante's Inferno needs the GOW treatment. No cut camera, with a real hellish depiction of the 9 circles and a story as dark and as serious would be amazing.

Yui_Suzumiya567d ago

Still pretty amazing there was a PSP version that was actually pretty good. I remember playing it 10 years ago. I had the PS3 version when it first came out and loved it.

Hellcat2020567d ago

Ahh the memories of playing Heavenly Sword
Such a amazing experience

LoveSpuds567d ago

Yup, I remember being blown away with Heavenly Sword. I remember holding out hope that they would go back and add trophy support as a incentive to go back and replay the game, but I don't think they ever did?

Yui_Suzumiya567d ago

I couldn't beat the final boss though! Spent several days trying but eventually gave up, lol. Still enjoyed it though.

refocusedman567d ago

heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.

YoungKingDoran567d ago

I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
