Its always hard to beat a good first game because they create a new universe to you and there is a WOW factor.But sequels live on changing sequences in the same world and thus dont have the wow factor.True to me for ME,Bioshock,SC etc.

I just had a 1 hour 20 minute game of C&C tiberian Sun, SC2 reminds me some what of C&C but for others it's the other way round. I love macroing, I had 20+ TITANS and one attack of the enemy base was the best feeling ever.

Don't expect to go online an win if you are new. However, the great thing about starcraft is it's not to complex to pick up and have fun with if you aren't playing against veterans. Fighting computer opponents in skirmishes is a great way to get practice and with their 5 different difficulty settings you can get to know the game that way before going online.

DISCLAIMER- my apologies for how long this comment is.

No LAN Mode- A fair complaint, not quite as big a deal as it was before broadband but still.

No Offline Mode- Not true in the sense that most people would take this by face value. There IS a story campaign, you just need to be online to play it.

The Price- I don't see a problem, it's just a normally priced game.

Only Terran campaign- This isn't too bad as long as the overall three games have been fleshed out properly. If they feel like three seperate games than this is no problem.

DRM- I agree with this one

No Cross-Region play- Agree 100%. When half of your fanbase is in Korea you know this will be an issue.

No Chat Rooms- This can be patched in I'm fairly sure.

You just don't get any achievements put onto your battle.net profile when you aren't connected to battle.net (which does suck, because I didn't realize this at the time and I missed out on 25 achievement points since I lost my battle.net connection. I had to replay the mission from my last save which was in the middle of the mission in order to get the achievements.)

Also, I'm curious as to why people get their panties in a wad about being connected to battle.net. I mean, when is your computer not connected to some type of internet connection. I play on a desktop and my computer is ALWAYS on the internet. If I put it on my laptop, its hard to thing of anywhere that I would be playing it where I wasn't able to access wifi.

Lan - It has become much less necessary in most regions of the world that would even have a thriving gamer population. I also want to add that I signed the petition in regard to putting LAN back in. But, that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy the game.

Offline Mode - You activate your game and then you can play offline...without a connection... get it... offline.

Price - It's the same damn price we have been paying for games from Blizzard since back in the fucking 90's. Yeah, I wish the game was 20 dollars... but, I also wish I had a hamburger in one hand and a titty in the other... But, I'm at work right now, so I can't... sh*t... I should do some work.

Terran Only Campaign - It's as long a game as the original with all three races' stories being told. Get over it already. It's a story device they are choosing to use. They are calling the other three games expansions and are pricing them accordingly. Even the expansions will have pretty much as much content as the first. Stop talking out your candy ass and yelling the sky is falling.

DRM - Practically every game to be made has some form of DRM. What the hell is your problem? Nobody likes DRM, but it's a fixture of gaming. For f*ck sake remember when you had to enter in words or codes from the manual in order to start up a game back in the days of DOS? How is this new?

No Cross Region Play - Okay. That could be a downer for some people. But, honestly this won't affect that many people. Also, they are adding that support. All you have to do is keep your panties on.

No Chat Rooms - They are most likely going to add this, so again keep your underwear free and clear of all obstructions.

Personally, I think the Facebook integration is lame, but that's life today... Life today consists of Facebook status updates... Like 'I just saw a movie' and the classic 'I took a satisfying dump and then ate a sandwich without washing my hands'. You see how important facebook is? No... me neither. I don't care if you like knitting and your favorite books are the Harry Potter series and Twilight. What I am concerned about, is that you are a 43 year old man and you have a picture of you dressed up as Edward from Twilight... and well... that your favorite books are Harry Potter and Twilight... I won't lie... that's weird somehow... and the cosplay makes it creepy and sad.

I guess you could call what I did as defending the DRM... but, did I really? All I said was it's nothing new. It's been around since the DOS days. I even said nobody likes it. I don't like it, but is it an actual reason not to buy the game?

Is what Blizzard did the same thing as Ubisoft? Ubisoft, with Assassins Creed, required that you be constantly connected to their servers in order to even play the game. Blizzard requires you connect once to activate it, after that you can play in offline. There is a distinct difference in those two scenarios.

Either you have a media check (DVD/CD/whatever) or you have a Serial Key or you have an authentication process involving some kind of online scenario. These are the current schemes being used. The online scenario allows much more control over their content, which is a win for them as a company with regard to rights management and service integrity (cheating/bots/hacking/ect).

I don't like it, but it's what we are given, because they are trying to protect their investments. The funny thing is Bnet is the ultimate anti piracy scheme. I mean, sure many people will pirate this game. It’ an inevitability, but they will not be able to play the multiplayer functions like everybody else. They are going to have to play against the computer or wait for private servers to start up and be part of that underground circle jerk. Yeah, it will work. But, it will be a pain in the ass and still not let you participate in the authentic experience of ladder with the best of the best, ect.

That is a big reason why they removed LAN. It has to be. The reason why it's kind of moot at this stage of the game is, high speed is now the norm, especially for gamer households. They weighed the pros and the cons.

Sure, they should feel great that they made a great game and it's played by 10's of millions, but they want the cash too. Personally, I think that even with piracy, these game companies make money hand over fist. I think that all this talk about lost this and lost that is like smoke in the sky. It just dissipates and goes away. You still had the fire and it still cooked your meal.

Bnet connectivity and lack of retail LAN support go hand-in-hand as part of a larger means of DRM.

And Real ID... I don't know... I don't like the concept. It bothers me. But, again does that mean I shouldn't buy the game in the end? My answer is no.

And maybe they will lose some people... that's the name of the game. It happens in life. You can't please everybody. But for every one that says, 'no thanks' you will have one maybe even more saying 'sure, sounds fun'. If, it's a good product.

Not complaining, I f**king love this game. Best RTS I've played in years, especially after being mildly disappointed by Supreme Commander (Total Annihilation was my favourite RTS game ever).

However, how do you expect other players to catch up to the level of Korean players if they can't play against them and learn from it?

Spend 8 hours a day playing starcraft like many of the gamers do in Korea...it's literally their job....If you can devote that much time, then by all means try to get as good as them.

Granted, not all Koreans play SC2 that much...some play for 4 hours a day...no but seriously, it's like the gap between the US and everyone else at the Summer Olympics. They're just that good and almost on another level than 95% of SC2 players around the world

Did you know you can ONLY play custom maps that have been uploaded to battlenet?
Did you know each user can ONLY upload 5 maps?

1)....umm....no kidding. If it's going on their servers, they have to check through it. What you talk about would be like me putting something on your yard and you have to live with it no matter what it is and no say in the matter

2) That I'm a bit upset about because there's some really good mapmakers....but couldn't you save the file and just send it to a friend to publish? I know I don't make maps or something like that (really don't know the answer to this)

3) So you want to wait for 3 hours to play a map that isn't popular? The only downside to this is new maps might have trouble breaking through but you can still click more and get a list of all the custom maps on the bnet servers....knowing is half the battle.

The fact you think the campaign is atrocious shows how much you gave this game a shot. It picks up in a huge way towards the middle and is by far the best RTS campaign I've ever played with every mission playing differently with a different objective/goal in mind

It's not fanboyism.....I'm having fun (novel concept right).....ACTIVISION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BLIZZARD OTHER THAN PUTTING THEIR NAME ON THE GAME.

Vivendi owns both Blizzard and Activision.....Activision does not own Blizzard and vice versa. So all these so called flaws are Blizzard induced. The RealID stuff is only viable if you add them as a friend with battle.net emails or facebook friends...you can add people with their character name and identifier code. So that's not even an issue at this point.

I guess the rest is up to debate. I love the campaign and am sucked in by the story. I do wish they made it a bit more linear so the story connected a bit better but I'm definitely into it. It's not as bad as you say. I think it's just the fun thing to do hate Starcraft 2 just like it will be the fun thing to do to hate Halo Reach when it comes out.....so I'll respond to your fanboy comment about me by saying to let your fanboyism die down a bit
