I actually met de guys at Ronimo, they said that it kinda sucked the Wii-version didn't sell so well eventhough it was praised by reviewers.
I hope this gives them more of a succes.
According to them you need to sell an amount to actually get some money...something to do with a Nintendo policy.

surprised they actually got a PS3 license.

I had hoped this would be one of the games to pass the threshold, but that's a major bummer to hear.

Swords & Soldiers (Nintendo Switch) Review | Cubed3

Switch is quickly becoming the go-to home for indie titles, but it's also receiving a fair amount of remasters of titles from yesteryear. The latest is Swords & Soldiers, an RTS/tower defence from a decade ago. It's not Swords & Soldiers's first foray into the world of Nintendo, with the original appearing on Wii U, back in 2014, followed by a sequel a year later thanks to Kickstarter. Now the original is getting a surprise release on Nintendo hybrid platform.
