PSP game beats Wii, DS & PS3 in Famitsu's top 100 software sales for the first half of 2007. No 360

Famitsu has revealed the top 100 total software sales for the region of Japan for the first half of the year 2007. In a bit of a suprise, a PSP title called Monster Hunter Portable 2nd tops the chart with 1,361,624 but from there on in comes the usual onslaught of Nintendo platform titles takes place.

Great game but it's the only game that I have for some reason that I get sick and tired of it, then I feel like playing it again and spend hours of my life trying to kill the FATALIS!!!

Anyway it's nice to see the PSP shine in Japan for once. Such a great handheld but overshadowed by Nintendo's handheld dominance. Even though the PSP lacks quanity compared to the DS, it has quality which is by far the most important aspect.

I'll expect Crisis Core to also topple the chart on October.

everybody with a PSP should really try the game Brave Story: New Traveler, its in my top games together with LocoRoco and Syphon Filter, its an oldschool turnbase JRPG at its best!

I dont understand why people like the DS, its a bad graphic'd-boring-too interactive handheld device, touch screen... what if you lose your stylus and your fingers are too big? Why does everyone love the DS over PSP(other than PSP owners of course) Is the fact that all the little kids want a DS because it has pokemon? PSP is overall the greatest handheld to date, not only does it have great graphics for a handheld, but its got great multimedia functionality, and the PS3 connectivity is reall awesome to....

Still though, great to see PSP on top for once >.>

It's a psychological thing. I hear a lot of older gamers that play it say that using the stylus makes them feel like their using a PDA and not randomly tapping buttons. It's strange to me as well but non-gamers seem to like it more. Plus I'm guilty of owning Pokemon myself so...

The funny thing is that there are only 2 PSP games. One at number 1 and the other at number 28!
What is wrong with Japanese gamers? Aside from a few occasions, almost all the games on the list are casual and non-game titles. They're not even showing PS3 games much love.

All I needed to see was some screenshots of wyverns and great swords and I was all over Monster Hunter for the PS2 on day one! I absolutely LOVED the game and logged about 314 hours into it. Unfortunately, I had a little accident while trying to transfer my data to my PS3 and poof, all my work is now gone. Monster Hunter is much bigger in Japan than it is here, but if Capcom would just put online play into their Monster Hunter titles for the PSP (which are great as well), I'd go right out and buy a PSP tomorrow. I've been praying that we see Monster Hunter for the PS3 -- the graphics would be amazing (just look at the other versions as proof)!

Yes, 314 is rather precise, but every time you'd load your game, it'd tell you your total play time. I'm fairly certain that 314 hours is the last time I saw.

takes like 4 months, while it takes a year to make good psp game, though that's shows,that there a lot less psp titles, but they are hits and they top everything else.ds and wii will be soo outdated in 09.
