It’s not easy being a game developer these days, specifically an indie game developer. There are plenty of things that a lone game developer simply can’t do himself, and thus, must acquire outside sources to gain those specific things, namely art and music. Let’s face it, in today’s high impact game development market, gamers require a certain sort of presentation with their games, especially if they are required to fork over any amount of money for it.
This is where Sorcery Games and Robert Toone come in. You see, Robert Toone is an indie developer who has worked on over 50 games in the past (according to him) and now he wants to release his own game, a side scrolling shmup, onto the Xbox Live Indie Games channel. But, in order to make it the best game possible, he is looking for around $7500.
The box art for Pester reads "Welcome to bullet heaven". If you're a fan of shmups like this, you will probably have heard the term 'bullet hell', and so will immediately be expecting a bit of a challenging one with this game.
Finding shooters hard to get into? The starting difficulty too hard? Then you need to play A Shooter on your Xbox 360. This game starts off in a measured way to introduce novices to the art of side scrolling shooters. Later as you achieve Mastery of the shooter elements it packs the screen full of interesting and daunting enemies to crush.
I think it's pretty cool that they're reaching out for people to be a part of the game
I wonder if all donaters will get put in the credits.. :D
Gettin people involved, kinda nice
I'd donate for a spot in the credits, it's not like it would be difficult to program, it's just scrolling text.
I'll donate €100 if they make it multiplatform.
