Megabits of Gaming takes a look at Sony's PS2 and picks some of the console's greatest games...
The Opening Levels that hooked gamers from the outset.
Relive the golden age of gaming with these timeless video games. From Wind Waker to Monkey Island, get ready for a nostalgia-filled ride.
I'd put Street Fighter 2 over 3. 2 and all its different versions dominated the arcade scene back in the day in a way that 3 never did.
Ms Pacman?
Robotron?
SSF2 Turbo over 3 simply by the 10000000000's ports of the game we're still having
Castlevania SOTN?
Zelda Link to the Past over Wind Waker
Super Mario Bros 3?
Chrono Trigger?
Resident evil4?
COD MW2 (the original)?
Uncharted 2
Metal Gear Solid?
Here's my reasoning for all of them versus the list proposed in the article.
They are still quite enjoyable from start to finish on their original platform, unlike some Wind Waker or Okami that are fun when you play the remastered version (unless you call: forced to watch a 20-minute cutscene or have to blow for wind chance constantly fun).
Some of them are the pinnacle of what the console could do (MGS, Chrono, MGS)
Lots of them are still considered the go-to-go game for their genre.
It’s been 20+ years since the time that gave us Mulholland Drive and “Bootylicious”, meaning this look at the best games of 2001 is going to make some of you feel very old very quickly.
My PS2 is still alive even when my mom threw it against the stairs and it fell all the way down, still works…
I stopped playing mgs2 after 4 hours, never finished it, damn those games don't live up their hypes.
all those games are really mediocre when you compare them to real classics like halo:CE
A few years ago I had a brief relationship with a truly beautiful young girl. We became inseparable, shared some wonderful times and though our romance finally fizzled out we remained friends with a true and deep connection. I have never been closer to anyone on this planet. I'd beat her to death with her own spine to be playing a Team ICO HD collection right now.
PS.
I originally intended to go with, 'I get half as teary eyed when I think of her as I do when I think of Ico' but hey, you've got to give the crowd what they want.
