Mafia PS3 = one of the compromised PS3 graphics. They can max it, but it will be impossible on xbox

Come on, it's clear that the 360 version is better. It has better anti-aliasing, has ambient occlusion that is missing in the PS3 version and looks crisper in general.

The ambient occlusion that I am talking about is the subtle shadows that you see behind objects. Switch back and forth and you will see what I am talking about.

No its not clear.
Again look at the tree's in the top left corner and at the grass arround the sewer opening, it's washed out on the 360 and you can count the branches and leaves on the PS3.

The ps3 version just looks raw. Like it is missing effects or something. The grass and other textures just looks raw and jagged on the ps3 while on the 360 version it is smooth and better balanced with other elements in the scene.

From those pics it's hard to tell but the lighting is clearly better on 360. When there are some video of both game engines running, we will have some idea of frames, draw distance...etc. This reminds me of Saboteur comparisons, bad lighting on PS3, same with RDR, but with severe drops to the fps, draw distance pop in, washed out colors and lower resolution...Hmmmm...

For some reason I suspect we will not be seeing the 2 versions running side by side before launch. Doesn't matter, it's a GTA clone. It does look good regardless and the PS3 has some sort of DLC ( for now ) so I guess the PS3 wins even if it's a little less in the graphics. They aren't saying if the video's they've released ( substantial ) are PS3 or 360, again, just like RDR.

360's does look better. Call it a fluke, blame it on the TV, blame it on the devs, but 360's version has better lighting, outlines, textures, etc. Sometimes you just gotta bite down and admit the truth. So dizzleK, I'm agreeing with you on this one.

Doesn't mean I'm picking up the game though. It's gonna need some good reviews for me to look at it more.

I just hope that the Xbox 360 version runs at the same clip and sports as few screen tears as the PS3. Regardless, BOTH VERSIONS look AMAZING!

Really? graphically i don't think the game looks anything special but i suppose looking at still like this does show up any flaws that aren't usually noticeable in motion.

i'd say both versions have their strengths and weaknesses but perhaps the 360 takes the edge overall. Either way it should be enjoyable on either console providing the performance is similar

Is there going to be comparison articles for every semi-major to major multi-platform game this generation? I dunno, I just don't think its that big of a deal unless its a big issue (kind of like Bayonetta). Problem with screen shot is that there are too many variables that could be wrong. Some sites have a difference even between the same XBOX versions. Its just not reliable.

I personally don't care if the 360 version turns out better, or if the PS3 version turns out better, i'm sure the game will be awesome.

No surprises here. The PS3 version just looks washed out and the textures aren't as detailed, plus more jaggies.

Easy decision for people who own both consoles and again, an easy decision for those that own only 1 :)

The same has GTA IV the xbox360 haves the more clean and clinic look!Lets hope the resolution match one on other!R* and 2K games normally have sharper look on the 360 ( Bioshock,RDR,and GTA can prove it ).

Who cares? Seriously the differences are sooo small that the only people who care are those who have no life and have the time to compare between the two screens for 8 hours a day. Honestly, people are going to buy this game for whatever console they have. People with all consoles might choose between them but let's face it, a vast majority of people only have one console. This is dumb because some of the pictures are taken at different times and they look to identical. I'm willing to bet it's the same game with a few alters done to the pics.

edit: ok now I see the difference thanks to Ninja Assasin #1.3. It would appear again 360 is out doing PS3 but why? This game has been in development for a very long time so there's no excuse. I don't think we can judge games by exclusives because now it would appear that any PS3 exclusive would look better in 360.

Some devs just arent as good at harnessing the Cell architecture to play nice with their engine. Ps3 has a ton of power, but it still takes a GREAT dev to bring it out. That's why I'm glad to see Sony purchase GOOD studios and keep them as first party. It's why we're seeing so many great games on Ps3

Everybody here has their opinion ready while not even having played the game. The guys over at cynamite say the ps3 version looked slighty sharper! Xbox supposed to have some better shaders according to the same website. Both are 720P. So what are all those ignorant people here arguing about sub-HD resolutions etc?
