American PSN updates for August 2nd

The press release is in and PS3fanboy reveals the lineup for today's US PSN Store update. While they are not entirely sure when the update will take place, you can look forward to seeing the following filling your harddrive at some point later today:

Granted GRAW2 has been around for Xbox 360 for a while, but I'd like to see how it looks on the PS3. Having a demo for the Darkness is good too. I know a lot of people on the fence for that game.

I downloaded GRAW2 demo from UK and Portuguese store, both shows error (8...) when start install, also new Lair trailer here shows corrupted data, only the Juiced 2 trailler works fine.

UPDATE: Confirmed, some european stores and/or servers have corrupted files, I'm not the only one to get the problem, meantime I got GRAW2 demo from US store and it works perfect. Great demo.

I already downloaded the Darkness demo off my European Account. And you're right, I was on the fence about that game and it was good. I was just gonna wait for Lair but now that Lair got delayed I'll need a game. So I'm buying The Darkness.

GRAW 2 demo, sure I'll give it a go but I'm not buying that game.

Isn't Graw2 slower, more a sneaker game while RB6V is a fast (or faster) paced FPS? Graw2 is SWAT team, 3rd person. Can anyone tell me if you have to worry a lot about your team (= distracting) or is the AI pretty smart ? I'd lean more to the slower more strategic approach. Opinion ? It's a pity they don't have a RB6V demo out to compare them.

I don't know why people like Geo Wars over this. I've played both so don't mock me I just feel Blast Factor is so much better. Even than that Super Stardust game.

I think Blast Factor is WAAAY better than Geometry Wars. It has sixaxis controls and allows for more strategy than GW or Stardust HD. I have Stardust HD also...and I don't play it much. I do play flOw a heck of a lot though. GREAT GAME!

for one it doesn't really have much to it. yeah it has the sixaxis, but really i thinking stardust is better technically and in gameplay. it's quite addictive. plus itr has weapons and housemarque has some new stuff planned as downloadable content.

Yea I like Graw ever since playing it with my friend and brother on the 360

Its a good game with 4 player split screen online too but comparing it to R6V is a no no because both different :) If you like R6V you would love this too

and Darkness well I played it on the 360 and to me its total crap lol (my opinion) and forget about the online MP because thats a total crap

There's opinion and then there's stupidity. Most people didn't buy The Darkness BECAUSE of the demo. The demo hardly showed what the game was about or anything. The Darkness is as intricate a storyline as Final Fantasy or even Zelda. I mean, this thing was just a tear-jerker!

since I got The Darkness from EU PSN :p btw... I didn't like the darkness first time through the demo, I'll give it one more change tho... the fact they assigned R2 and L2 as shoot buttons its so damn confusing... most FPS I played since PSone trigger was R1 <.< so I keep pressing that all the time and its annoying =X

Anyone knows if demos from different regions (EU JP NA) are different at all?

I think they need one huge update that just finally matches live, instead of these really small ones where the games have already seen shelves for a while, etc... I don't know... maybe Im just spoiled from live? the PSS really needs to step up, because they are behind on their updates where live sees them first and some times days/weeks before PSN does!

Well they are updating it often nowadays and GRAW2 is not even out for the ps3 so a demo few weeks before its out seems right...

Sony's just waiting for the Home feature to be put in then thats when its all going to start

But PSN is every improving. Live didn't get Folkore or Heavenly Sword. And PSN got Dynasty Warriors Gundam before Live did. So while live is still better PSN has been pretty good.

3rd parties are responsible for their own marketing through PSN. if you want more demos complain to the developers not to sony... I'm really not sure why im defending sony but I think they incorrectly take a lot of heat for this kind of thing... count up the demos on PSN and see how many are 1st party and how many are 3rd party.. it must be a 90/10 split... also the time it takes them to put the demos together essentially are weeks maybe a month or more that they could be spending making the final games kick ass. I'd rather have a kick ass complete game than a 10 minute demo any day...

dude just rent the darkness... I bought it and beat it in 2 days, no replay value, and online sucks, and I got a pretty big headache from the frame rate. other than that it's a great game, great story.

I downloaded off my Japanese account. Even without understanding the langauge I was able to pass the demo. And the gameplay is pretty interesting, graphics are good. I'm actually thinking of buying Folklore now. It seemed like a pretty simple and straight foward RPG. the map is the same as FFX. So to my surprise I'm kinda hyped about Folklore now.

Dude, Folklore was AWESOME! No, we don't know what the characters are talking about, but the battling is so unique! I've never played an RPG like it.

Two demos in one week that is good. I bought the Darkness and this game is sick. I had GRAW 2 on the 360 and the Single Player is the bomb. It is a very technical shooter so be ready yo train as a soldier. You really feel like a soldier on a mission while you are playing this game.

This Graw 2 thing is refusing to install i have downloaded it twice and it didnt install currently downloading it for the 3rd time and trying not to perform in background i heard it works that way but if it dosent work i'll just wait for the us store to update

maybe turn off and on your system again...
