Alpha Protocol Review (DualShockers)

DualShockers writes, "When you hear the word “delay” what do you immediately think of? As a gamer, the word is just as bad as any other four-letter word out there. Whenever it’s said in conjunction with a particular title you’re looking forward to it’s enough to make anyone cringe. After Alpha Protocol’s second delay I still held out hope, and now I’m left wondering why I even bothered..."

Damn this is disappointing. Another good marketing pitch to a bad game.

JoelT5061d ago

the more trailers and ads you see for a game, the worse it usually is.

You do realize that delay is a five letter word right? =P

The author is saying delay is just as bad as F(#& C&Q@ SH&# to a gamer as far as indicating a game's quality.

Thanks for the feedback but it makes total sense if you think about it.

Sucks to see that this game did so bad when so many people were expecting it to be great. An unfinished product never does well.

The only reason you should even want to play this is if you only own a PS3 and can't play Mass Effect 2. Even then, its kind of a disgrace to even compare the two games.

If you do not have a PS3 and want to play Mass Effect 2, just buy it for your PC.

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
