Game Revolution writes: "Few game genres summon the sounds, sights, and downright stink of the good old arcade days more than shoot-'em-ups. Back before the days of teh Haloz, these were the real “shooters”. But over the years, the genre’s been pushed further and further to the fringes of the gaming landscape, where shmup fans now have more in common with elderly shuffle-board players than with the youngsters pwning them in Call of Duty."

One of Treasure’s best but most obscure shooters is re-released on the Wii U eShop, but does it still have that old arcade magic?
We’ve only done three retro reviews so far this year and two of them have been by Treasure. But despite them being one of our favourite developers we swear that’s just a coincidence. Last week we re-reviewed Silent Hill 2 because of all the trouble with Silent Hills, and then the week before that we covered Treasure’s Gradius V – because it happened to be being re-released on PSN at the time. But while Gradius V is certainly a great game Successor Of The Skies is even better.
Sold. I like the fact Nintendo is putting some Wii titles like this Galaxy2, and Prime Trilogy. Cause I missed them on Wii.
20 Games In 40 Minutes from veteran games journos Jon Denton and Chet Roivas. This week: Why Trials Evolution is the best XBLA game ever, why Fez is unravelling our brains, and why getting pissed in The Witcher 2 is amazing. Also: Killer Shigsy.
Samuel Evans: "The Wii had an interesting year releasing most entries in Nintendo's key game lineups. The question is did it payoff on their own system or did third party rule the day?"
Still think that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is overrated. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the ultimate 10 out of 10 game everyone scored it as. And number 1? Really?
