Yoshida: Sony “very aware” of demand for Team ICO Collection

VG247: SCE Worldwide studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has said that Sony is “aware” of the demand for a Team ICO Collection for PS3.

The Team ICO Collection would be awesome. I already have both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. But I really like the idea of playing this with trophies and in HD.

I'm not sure about the idea of trophies popping up during Shadow of the Colossus. Hopefully they will time them so they appear 20 or 30 seconds after the dramatic moments so that they don't break the feeling of immersion. I'd actually like an option to turn them off.

Yea but at the same time this pretty much sounds like an announcement. They said it was at the top of there list. Though not an official announcement, and it may never happen. Im sure it will happen sooner or later.

I'm guessing The Last Guardian for a 2nd quarter release next year, so I think we'll see the HD Team ICO collection 3-4 months prior to its release.

Sony would be dumb to not do this. These HD collections are both a goldmine and a great opportunity for us gamers. Why wouldn't we want to play some of our favorite games with updated graphics and trophy support? It's awesome.

If they REALLY understood the demand for that collection..it would have been released yesterday..

I actually still own ICO...and although I would love to play an HD version..it is honestly Shadow of the Collosus that is the only game that really matters..

That game was breathtaking..

I remember seeing the first collosus for the first time and couldnt believe my eyes..and that was with PS2 graphics..Team Ico created a masterpiece..

I'm disappointed Last Guardian would not be released this yesar..but the truth is I think we all suspected in the back of our minds that it would be a looong wait for it

Would definitely buy these games if redone in HD. Not only for the better visual punch but to support Team Ico for a job well done. Ico was the main reason I bought a PS2. I hope it comes out and Team Ico gets rewarded for creating 2 great games (preferred Ico though)this industry needed to be made. They deserved better sales originally and hope they get more sales to make up for the lackluster sales previously.

They're just "aware" of it... Doesn't mean anything really. They're aware of a lot of demanded things that will never see the light of day. Me, I'd pay up to $100 to replay these two games in 1080p @ 60fps. Will it happen? No, because I think it's a good idea, and such things never happen :)

I think thats their plan, for any and every new PS3 sequel Sony plans to bring out a Collection set months before the new game is relaesed. Similar to the GOW series. It makes sense, gets people into the series weither they are new or not, and sets up everyone whos ready to play the PS3 sequel perfectly. Also these games arn't just some OK games, they are some of the best games to ever hit the PS2.

They are working on it they just don't want to take attention away from the Sly Cooper collection which'll coincide with inFamous 2 launch while the ICO collection will coincide with the last guardian.

I have to agree with other people who have commented, I think an ICO collection will be out 3-4 months prior to the release of The Last Guardian. I'm looking forward to seeing a HD remaster, even though I already own both games =).

Just think of all the money Sony can keep making from the PS2. So many great games and people want remakes. Shows how great the PS2 was. They should start up a development studio that just handles these games. It doesn't seem like it's that much work to do these ports.

Just finished God of War 3 and you can't fight atop the giant God Giai without remembering Shadow of the Colossus.

I played SofC two years ago starting in December - fighting one colossi each night leading up to Christmas. It felt like a ritual, which suits the atmosphere of the game perfectly. Good times.

Both Ico and SotC are masterpieces and beyond many games of today. Everyone with a Playstation should have played these games. There is someting about these games that you will have to experience, you cant put it to words. So Sony make it happen!!!!!

Sony will probably release the HD remakes shortly before/after the release of TLG. Maximise sales and also the possibility of a trilogy set just like GOW.

SotC was, at least, a technical marvel on the PS2. GoW 1&2 were supposed to be mostly C-code, and easy to port, and Sly Cooper was likely the same.

ICO/SotC may not be as simple. Don't hold your breath. Which isn't to say that you shouldn't hope for it.
