pick this up? If so, have you been enjoying it?
I have been playing the PS3 demo of it, and I think the passing is pretty good; but the running seems loose.

Do running backs vary in speed/performance, are all the stats pretty much the same from team to team?

the feedback!
I don't know if you read the article, but I talked about how some comments said the IGN reviewer needed to play the game more before reviewing it.

Two of the comments were pretty long explaining why they enjoyed the game and thought IGN's review was wrong.

it has one hell of a learn curve. part of that is how different it is from any football game ever made. its very unique. another part is that the tutorials aren't in depth enough. i think thats the main reason for the low review scores. you have to give it time. took me a week to fully enjoy it.

if you're a huge fan of football games, and are tired of madden, its worth checkin out. although if you're not dieing to play it, i would wait until its like 20 bucks, its a much better value at that price. i think at 50 its a risk. but remember, BUY NEW! support the developer, and give madden competition.

a line in the article about the price point.

It was under the "Thoughts" section, and pretty much agrees with your comment.

Thanks for the feedback!

With what you are saying. I picked it up in the spirit of competition and innovation. I am not disappointed in the least with my purchase. It is the most physically sound sports game I have ever played. Sure, there are small bugs (that are supposed to be ironed out in a patch). But, overall, Natural Motion has created the foundation for a great game. No surrounding a player with five would be tacklers only to see him escape magically. No suction blocking. No 10 yard warps to the ball by defensive players that should be out of position for an INT. No auto line fill to prevent long runs on higher difficulty levels.
Passing is difficult because of the perspective and inability to see everything that the defense is doing. But, that is a more realistic slant to playing football. This game takes some time to get adjusted to all of the subtle nuances that the engine allows and rid yourself of prior football habits. Most of the people complaining hate the camera or hate the fact that you will be sacked and stopped when driving for touchdowns. For a 1st effort from a team that didn't know football when they started the project, it is pretty damn good. People have already created all 32 NFL teams with logos and rosters. So, I am good with my football fix for the season. As someone stated above. It might not be worth it to all people at $50. But, hit the bargain bin and support it. This could quite easily be one of the biggest revolutions in sports games. Remember, a revolution starts with one small but defiant action...

And even platinumed it (check my profile if you don't believe me) And I have to say that the game is absolutely without a doubt one of the worst games I ever played. From the terrible camera angles to the awful controls its bad at everything. The only redeeming quality in this game was the physics engine. Other than that its an epic fail.

You mean someone actually cares about this game? Even worse, someone cares which system sells more if it?????

Truly Twilight Zone kinda stuff on N4G.

Can't wait for the next version, played madden 10 after playing Backbreaker and thats when you see the differents between the 2 games so I went back to Backbreaker and been plying it every since might be because its new or just the way it looks and plays, yes there is a patch coming to fix some of the things that need it.If this game stays around it will become a boxing buddy for Madden maybe EA SHOULD BUY THIS COMPANY AND USE THIS ENGINE for madden before the Backbreaker people step up the game even more in the next 1 or 2 versions.

4 Sports Game Franchises That Should Be Dissolved

There are many sports franchises that are fantastic editions to the world of gaming, deserving both as an edition to their respective gaming field and to video gaming at large. Other franchises, however, have seen their time. It’s time for these franchises to go the way of the dinosaur before they get even worse than they already are.

Should be dissolved too. The yearly additions are essentially the same except for rosters, schedules, and new stadiums.

I would go as far as to say that most of these games are actually worse than the previous iteration.
