Mmmmm.. Can't wait for this one, Brings back alot of memories of when I used to play Hot Pursuit 2 on mah' PS2. :D

I can still remember how that dude always spoke & told you everything about a vehicle whenever you highlight 'em in the car lot, Absolutely loved that.. & collecting all of the 200 vehicles! ;)

I just hope that the devs have got the same ideas in this one, It'd be a dream revived for me.

Open world
chases randomly in the city not on tracks
no splitscreen

I played burnout 3 takedown untill xbox live died, and im still playing burnout revenge after 4 years. Paradise sucksed balls, the open world races fucked up the competitive races from the 2 burnouts before it.And road rage was missing........

Now they are going to make the same mistake again... =[
Dreams crushed

This is Need for Speed, not Burnout. NFS belongs as an open world game.

"This is Need for Speed, not Burnout. NFS belongs as an open world game."

Funny how all the widely considered best Need for Speed games weren't open world then.

Sunny_D5052d ago

Ummm, I don't remmeber Hot Pursuit 2 being open world... Oh boy this sucks.

STONEY45051d ago (Edited 5051d ago )

That's what I'm saying, the series fell apart after Hot Pursuit 2 (which was my favorite), I thought Shift was pretty good, and guess what? Neither Shift nor the old NFS games were open world. Guess when the series fell apart? With Underground and Underground 2, 2 being their first open world game.

Looking Back to Two of Need for Speed's Best Games - Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit

Paul writes - "EA know a good thing when they see it, and for multiple years November was Need for Speed month. In a break from the usual routine, I'm going to be looking back at two games here, released in 2005 and 2010 respectively. The earlier game is Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which has the distinction of being one of the very best in the franchise. The second game comes from 2010, and is Need for Speed Hot Pursuit; which I'll talk about just as the Remastered version of the game has hit the stores."

Hotpursuit 2 was good as well.

The-Matrix-has-you155d ago (Edited 155d ago )

I completely adore this game! In fact its probably my favorite racing game. I recently dusted off my xbox 360 to play Most Wanted 2005. Still a great game, though I do not remember there being such horrible performance. Like massive frame-pacing issues. screen tearing, latency. If any game ever truly needed to be remastered, it this one for sure!

Uuuu, I loved this one. I want it.

No NFS released since Hot Pursuit (2010) has came close. The Ghost Games NFS games were just dreadful (to me they were anyway, 2015 was okay I suppose). Would love to replay this and I hope it has an update for next-gen as well.

DarkZane1308d ago (Edited 1308d ago )

I loved Most Wanted as well (on PS3, I think it released in 2012). After that, it has gone downhill, but the latest games are slowly coming back up. I loved NFS Heat, but it needs to get better before it comes back to same level as NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

Then again, NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted were likely better because they were from Criterion (in fact, those were the last 2 games from criterion in nfs series).

LucasRuinedChildhood1308d ago

@DarkZane
complete agree. Most Wanted was good fun as well.

boing11307d ago

Yeah, Criterion has made two best NFS games in my opinion.

georeo1308d ago

Oh yes! They cops vs the drivers online was a blast.

LucasRuinedChildhood1308d ago

Better be 60FPS unlike the original console ports.

Sgt_Slaughter1308d ago

I would be excited but NFS is basically dead in the water at this point, a shell of its former self.
