Kid Icarus Uprising's Masahiro Sakurai says we've got a creativity problem in the industry, particularly when it comes to the first-person shooter.
The main issue is that "controls are always the same" in established genres, so it feels like you take an "empty shell" and swap out "story and art".
BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."
From Zelda to Metroid, Nintendo Everything goes over the top five Nintendo franchises that have made the jump from 2D to 3D the best.
Nintendo has always been known for flaunting fine-tuned gameplay over full-blown narratives, however, Kid Icarus: Uprising literally flipped the script as it shined with its writing, story, and characters above all else.
creativity is bein sucked away from the gaming market....because of that lets go for the quick dollar mindstate
TPS genre just 'swaps out story
RPG genre just 'swaps out story'
seeing a pattern here?
