loved the trailer. It reminded me on what made me love the Dark Cloud series, Rogue Galaxy and Dragon Quest VIII so much. With Studio Ghibli, I have no doubt they'll capture that same atmosphere. I want it localized bad...

FanOfGaming5062d ago (Edited 5062d ago )

Yes I totally agree the art style is amazing, like Dark Cloud and Dragon Quest, that's why it looks so familiar.

Just watched the trailer again, this is what an RPG should look like. Big ups to Studio Ghibli and Level 5.

Sigh5062d ago

even the scale also. You can see it when they were traveling on the huge field with the mountains (makes me so happy!). An open world RPG... love it.

rockleex5062d ago (Edited 5062d ago )

Is because the animations of the characters are a lot smoother.

Mainly because its hard to draw out that many frames.

But I pray that this game will include PS Move support!

SaiyanFury5062d ago

Holy crap! Watching the trailer I thought it looked like a Studio Ghibli animation project. Hell yes!! This game looks golden, combined with Level 5 on another PS3 project, I cannot wait for this! I pray to God, and to Level 5 that they bring this over to the western world (it needs more JRPGs). Amazing animation style and extremely polished by the look of it. It's almost as exciting as the era of the original PS when I always had another JRPG to look forward too. Thank you both Level 5 and Ghibli. Bring it out in the west PLEASE!

grailly5062d ago

The music by Joe Hisaishi, makes me sooo happy :D

Chris3995062d ago (Edited 5062d ago )

Officially wet my pants now. I thought it was going to be an adventure game.

The trailer was AAA stuff. I don't see how anyone (except the most rabid of fanboys) could hate on such a beautiful work.

There's just something magical about Level-5 games. Every one (including the critically panned, but adored by most people who actually played the game for any length of time, WKC). They have a fantastic sense of scope, innocence and wonderment to their games. The sort of spark that Square lost long ago. I truly think that they are the next great JRPG house.

The genre is not dead, far from it. I think that we are going to see a renaissance with it, led at the forefront by games like this, once North Americans tire of shooting things.

SaiyanFury5061d ago

life doomer5062d ago

guys, is this the ps3 or ds trailer?

FanOfGaming5062d ago

it's the PS3 trailer, the DS trailer has also been released http://www.ironstarmovement...

labwarrior5062d ago

Also comes from Level 5, tha make WKC, one of the worst games of all time

MisterNiwa5062d ago

I have to disagree with you, since White Knight Chronicles offers more than any other JRPG this generation has offered.

Sure it had a kinda easy Story Line, but the game itself was rich detailed and had a wonderful design, not the best graphic but overall a real jewel.
The MMORPG mode was the best part though, only for this part the game shouldve get a 8/10. If it wasnt enough.

Redempteur5062d ago

The hate against WKc is ridiculous ..i'm not saying you have to love it since it does have flaws ...but "worst game of all time " is clearly trolling

Baba19065062d ago (Edited 5062d ago )

how did you find out that eternal sonata was better? you cant mean the grafics right so what is better exactly?

An Open Letter to Ni No Kuni

Dear Ni No Kuni, please be good.

I’ve watched gameplay videos and mumbled my way through development diaries. I’ve poured over previews and whistled your theme tune. I’ve looked at scans of your reviews in Japanese magazines and marked your release date on my calendar. I’ve got one of your screenshots set as my wallpaper. I’ve done my part, now it’s up to you. All you have to do is be good. Really good.

I seriously hope gamers go out and buy this game, they have no idea how much supporting Ni No Kuni would mean for the industry. Level 5 hardly makes console games anymore and the Japanese are shying away from JRPGs on consoles like Ni No Kuni, so buying this game would help keep Level 5 making console games and show other developers that JRPGs can still be successful in today's market

Canary4179d ago

I agree. I mean, I'm happy with all the great JRPGs on handhelds and all, but there's just something magical about playing a good, colorful JRPG on a big screen.

Only games that have really given me that fix this gen have been Eternal Sonata and Vesperia.

sashimi4179d ago

I wouldn't mind it on the Vita either, that screen would do the game justice.

rdgneoz34179d ago

And a colorful JRPG on a big screen made with the help of Studio Ghibli (they have a ton of amazing animated movies) is even better. Can't wait to see the story and hoping it has the option for original voice actors with subs.

Preordered it a while ago when Newegg was having the deals for $12 off along with the free shipping.

majiebeast4179d ago

They should stop making Inazuma 11 games and make Dark cloud 3 for vita or ps3. Wkc was decent from them but the early footage of the games fighting system looked alot better.

I will always support lvl 5 just for the fact that they made the best jrpg on the ps2, Dragonquest 8.

Tdmd4179d ago (Edited 4179d ago )

On that topoic, where the hell is Dragonquest 8 HD?! I want to play it again on my ps3!

Tewi-Inaba4179d ago (Edited 4179d ago )

I have it on my jp ds
does that count?
also http://www.siliconera.com/2... and Inazuma is fairly popular in japan, Level 5 is in abit of trouble but they aren't That bad off.

It's their western market that's abit...off

MattS4179d ago

lolwhat?

White Knight Chronicles
White Knight Chronicles 2
Ni No Kuni
3 different Inazuma games on Wii

3 JRPGs and 3 other games in a single generation is a hell of an output for a team of 200 people. Especially since on the PS2 they only published five games.

Ni no Kuni (DS) review - A great RPG North America never got (RPG Land)

The PS3 version of Ni no Kuni will come to the West in 2013, but there was also a very impressive DS game released in Japan in 2010. RPG Land gives it a "Great" rating, saying:
"Ni no Kuni is what happens when ordinary and simple pieces are put together by skilled people in wonderful ways. Ni no Kuni doesn’t dazzle with arcane mechanics, complicated story twists, tortured characters, or highly detailed polygons; it sticks to simplicity, and does that better than almost any other game on the market right now. It has a few flaws, and doesn’t stretch its wings and capitalize on some of its unique potential, but those flaws do not add up to anything that could drive people away from the game altogether."

knifefight4223d ago

We missed out on a gem here. :(
Thank goodness we're getting the PS3 game in English, at least.

Sev4222d ago

I didn't realize this was also for the DS.

Edit: Just read the subtitle. So this is different from the Wrath of the White Witch? Awesome.

knifefight4222d ago

It has a lot of overlap in the story, but the PS3 version takes it farther. This one has a much different battle system and is easier than the PS3 version (younger audience on DS), but is still a great game possessing a lot of the missing aspects of todays Japanese RPGs.

People missing the "golden days" would do well to pick up both versions. It's just a shame this one is apparently going to stay Japan-only.

Ni no Kuni 15-second TV spots

Gematsu: "Level-5 has put out two all-new, 15-second commercials for Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. It’s being prepared for a November 23 release on PlayStation 3 in Japan."

BABY-JEDI4551d ago

So according to this advert, you have to be a 6yr old girl to play this game.
Not really a good start to an advertising campaign.

jacksonmichael4547d ago (Edited 4547d ago )

So, according to you, you have to be identical to the person in the commercial to purchase a product?

BABY-JEDI4546d ago

Well, isn't that what advertising is about? Consumer & product association? The presentation of ones catchment market? LoL
; )
