3xG says: "Recently Sony Online Entertainment announced for the highly anticipated MMO game DC Universe Online, they plan to charge a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 (US Dollars), with the strange conversion rate this will most likely end up at £9.99 (Great British Pounds).
For anybody familiar with Massively Multiplayer games, a subscription fee is a pretty standard practice.
However since the game is aimed at both the PC and PS3 demographic the audience have responded with equally divided views. PS3 owners aren’t used to paying for anything really, so paying to play a game online maybe a little out of their comfort zone. What follows are suggestions SOE could implement as different models to the standard subscription architecture."

WTMG's Thomas Medina: "As far as I’m concerned, console MMOs have always been in a weird place. PC is where the main game is most popular. MMOs were born there, work best there, and have the vast majority of titles. Mobile is then next in line, with touchscreens and portability that adds something new while functioning well. Console gaming, on the other hand, is not portable (for the most part). Plus, it uses a controller, which is not the best instrument when your control scheme requires a thousand buttons and a cursor. That being said, there is an audience, and where there’s money to be made, publishers find a way. So here we are with some of the biggest console MMO games and how I feel they handled 2021. "
