Maybe it was because it was the third game in a cult series that hadn’t had an installment since the PS1, or perhaps it was the fact that P3 shipped on the PS2 two years after the new generation of consoles began, but for whatever reason, the stellar RPG went somewhat unnoticed despite favorable reviews. Atlus released Persona 3 FES the following year, which added to the story and brought improvements to the already fantastic turn-based JRPG gameplay. Now Atlus is set to release Persona 3 Portable, a handheld adaptation of the addictive game. While three separate versions in as many years may seem like overkill, it’s clear that there was more of this story to be told, and I’m glad it found its way into the PSP installment."

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.
HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.
It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.

A new SEGA / Atlus Switch eShop sale started up this week, which includes the lowest prices ever for various games including Persona 3 Portable, Sonic Origins Plus, and more.
The studio was on the verge of collapse when Persona 3 came out, and things were looking quite grim for Atlus. Regardless, many decisions made in the game paid off and became a staggering success.
Years ago, I was emulating the game on my laptop and the old thing died when I was about to get to the final boss. I'm more than happy to buy this remake when it comes out so I can finish it!
At the time I was immersed in SMT Nocturne and later DDS. I did not realize at all how important Persona would become for me years later.
Persona 3 FES was the first one that I played in the series. Looking forward to the remake.
