I pretty thought the same thing. But I know its wont be a faithful remake because its on the wii and therefore cant match FPs standards that have been set by the HD competition. Wii may be good for mario and fake excercise but FPS is something it should stay away from.

are settings, not minigames. That's like calling the head bob in an FPS a minigame. It's an option you can turn on and off.

I used to love playing Goldeneye on my N64, My brothers and I used to play that game all day and night. Great fun. So I was blown away that they are making a new version and adding online aspects. I've always hoped for that to be honest. Good news.

I doubt i'll be picking it up, I would of much preferred if it were an downloadable game from PSN or XBLA.

This is why I bought the wii. It doesnt deal with all that hd bs and they make games that are simply fun to play. I platinumed out gow 3 and sold it within 1st week of owning it. Wii titles on the other hand are a blast to play and I cant see selling any of them. Goldeneye will kick ass in the fun departmeant. These kids all hung up on hd need to see where thier fps gameplay came from. Gameplay matters more then a shiny fart on screen.

If you happen to find any one person who claims superiority in a game simply because of the pixel count, they're not gamers. But if someone has immense fun with an HD game, you'll fail at taking that fun away from them.

I'm sure alot of politics had to happen before this game started development.

Although Nintendo has exclusive rights to the video game, I'm sure the studio that owns the rights to James Bond had something to say. As a result they had to remove Peirce Brosnan and replace him with the currently contracted James Bond, Daniel Crieg.

Although one of things that made the N64 game great was Rare's ingenuity of bringing a Shooter to a console. As well as some wonderful level design and great adaptation of the movie to video game world. The 4 player multiplayer was great as well.

Though now, things have changed. Shooters have progressed far beyond what they were on the N64. Though I'm afraid anything they try to tweak with the game may genuinly have a negitive consiquence. If this is just an athstetic remake of the title then they shouldn't feel the need to change anything. If this is a mechanic remake then I'm wondering if the strong feeling for this title may be misplaced.

has the rights now, and MGM allows them to. That shouldn't have been the difficult part. They can make all the Bond games they want together, Quantum of Solace, etc...

The hardest part would have been anything to do with Rare, and their material that was proprietary to them, such as music, imagery, artwork, etc...But that probably mostly belonged to MGM in the first place. Rare is the only entity not involved in this game now, as this is still Nintendo, still with MGM, and the publisher who owns the rights (Activision)...

Rare holds the development of the game as a company and I think that's why they decided to go with a remake rather than a download of the origanal game. If they rebuild the game under a different developer they can fully bypass politics with Rare.

I had heard that Nintendo and Microsoft couldn't come to an agreement about the game and that's why we havn't seen it in download form from Microsoft or Nintendo.

Microsoft/Rare owns half of the original game, the only way we will ever see the original re-released is when Microsoft and Nintendo come up with an agreement on an XBLA/VC release.

I saw that when there were the Pre-E3 rumors going around, honestly I thought it was fake and the golden gun periph was a fake. Needless to say I was shocked when they actually announced the game at E3 with this box art. I asked for a re-release of Goldeneye, I got a remake. I'm skeptical, but hoping for the best. I'm glad that you can use the classic controller, but I wish I could use the good ol' trident.
